Cheers for clearing that up. It does sound a lot better, giving the impression that WWF was in a much better place than it was. Child me wondered the same thing back then I was convinced they must’ve had their own network seeing superstars disappeared on my local station at the beginning of 96 in favor of infomercials. My buddy even called the station to find out and was told it got low ratings and they got more money to air infomercials. Oh man, that's depressing. 1996 was a rough time for the company.

I've never seen the infamous Hogan/Jarrett match from Bash At The Beach 2000 and had no idea that Hogan was in full NWO gear, I always pictured him in the red and yellow.

When Rey Mysterio lost to Randy Orton at No Way Out 2006, he "let Eddie down". Paul London, Psicosis, Super Crazy, Scotty 2 Hotty, Funaki, Bobby Lashley and Tatanka looked on disapprovingly backstage like some kind of Street Fighter 2 background.

Yeah, by September 1996, Superstars was gone from syndication altogether and moved to USA Network.

Hogan had a weird April 2000 on He became FUNB Hogan feuding with Kidman because Kidman in real-life talked crap about Hulk in an interview so Hulk talked crap about Kidman in an interview and the bookers decided if they feud on tv people will think it’s real because everyone looks up wrestling scoops on the Internet.in the program where he and Horace pulled a double swerve 1st with Horace turning on Hulk to bang Torrie Wilson and join the new blood only for them to reveal it was all a swerve and Horace joining Hulk at the end,Torrie and Kidman broke up in storyline and Hulk in real life wanted her as his valet for his fake life but Russo hated Hulk and instead randomly put her with Shane Douglas with no build. Then Hulk just went back to Hollywood Hogan when he started his world title program with Jarrett.

Watching the ‘90s Survivor Series for the first time since learning about Chuck Austin, and Perfect flat out says something like “that move could paralyze someone” after Jannetty hits the Rocker Dropper in ‘95.
Which was super gross.

Oddly, the Fox station where I live had been airing Superstars at the exact same time as Action Zone (Sunday at noon) in the summer of 1996.

So according to The Ultimate Warrior at Survivor Series 1990:
Hulk Hogan has Hulkamania.
Warrior has Warrior Wildness.
And Tito Santana has Arrivederci, which is Italian for "see you later" and has nothing to do with Tito Santana.

That reminds me of the shotgun era where at 1am Sunday on I believe my fox affiliate we had shotgun then also at 1am on a Spanish channel we had El Shotgun or something along those lines and then on a abc affiliate we had shotgun challenge at 1:30am.It was a bit of an over saturation of the same show if you ask me.

Watching the final episode of primetime for May 87 and during The Young Stallions vs Muraco & Orton opener Gorilla referred to Orton as The Excellence of Execution and also The Master of the Backbreaker.
Samuel Houston made what was announced as his World Wrestling Federation area debut.
It also featured appearances by Lance Wilshire and Kevin Dunn’s brother in law Kenny Rodriguez sadly Kenny’s appearance was off screen but he was most certainly there.

Don't know if they did it for any other prior shows, but I was surprised when watching the November 1984 WCCW shows showing matches from Wrestling Star Wars at the Cotton Bowl that year, you can faintly hear in the background the Star Wars Main Theme playing (to be precise during the opening introduction by Bill Mercer at the November 3, 1984 show).
While I could have guessed they named their shows based on the movies, I never thought that they went that far with it.

A few days before the Ultimate Warrior's WCW debut, Thunder ended with a shot of two fans in the crowd wearing his face paint.

There must’ve been a ton of those fans because up until he shows up on wcw tv there’s always people with their faces painted like him and signs for him on both shows after that run not so much. Also a bunch of “bring back Missy Hyatt” signs at nitro’s.

On a late-1993 ECW Hardcore TV episode, Paul Heyman cuts a promo on Terry Funk where he implies that Dick Murdoch is the biological father of Funk's daughters.

I forgot that Sabu and John Cena had a match in the run-up to the second ECW One Night Stand. Surreal as that concept is, they actually put on a pretty solid banger.
