Mae would have pissed if they weren't stiff shots. Pretty much, and Jamal/Umaga stiffed people constantly, anyhow. He was kind of a dick. If what Shelly Martinez said was true, he was way beyond kind of a dick.

Certainly, I am just saying that even with what we do know for sure, he wasn't a chill guy. Injuring the HLA gals by being downright sloppy, for example.

It's amazing how much of Savage's commentary at WM 9 feels like he's reading some mood poetry he just wrote:
Shawn Michaels. I know why he's here. Fantastic. No doubt, this is WrestleMania 9.

Also, fun drinking game: take a shot every time Savage says on commentary that someone will "do the thing" or is "doing the thing."

And our teetotal friends can take a drink every time Savage is good at commentary, which will leave you completely sober outside of one Bret Hart match in 1993 as far as I can tell.

Speaking of Savage, no wonder he ended up joining the nWo because he's getting his ass kicked every week for what feels like at least two months now on my Nitro rewatch.
I know this was when the nWo angle was starting to get white hot and as I'm watching Sting has just told WCW to shove it after the whole Fake Sting bit, but Savage comes off as an idiot as well. Lost count the amount of times he goes charging on his own to fight the nWo only to get his ass handed to him almost immediately.
The sore one must've been Hogan spray painting his bald spot. I mean, ouch.

As a fan it was great time to watch wrestling but the build was horrible.

Fall Brawl '96 is the most galling one I've seen so far with the whole Fake Sting business. Wasn't even that complex of a plan and yet it managed to fool Luger that Sting had joined the nWo.

That has nothing on the same event, 1 year later.

Nothing gets me excited more for a world title main event between 2 absolute legends than for the babyface to be so obsessed with his ex-wife who’s spent the better part of the prior year banging one of his hated rivals and spending his money yet seeing a video of her makes him cry and flee the building.

On the 1993 Survivor Series Showdown and the 1994 March to WrestleMania, the 1-hour versions airing the next night are promoted as episodes of Raw. Those versions aren't on the Network and aren't included in Raw's episode count.

Two minor WM 9 things, right before Bret vs. Yoko:
- Todd Pettengill visibly shoving a child out of the way to talk with two drunk dudes. Gotta teach the kids to respect dis business.
- A blonde woman in a jean jacket standing right behind the commentary team with a look of complete and utter disdain, the camera cutting away at the exact moment I'm assuming she lunged at all three men in a rage over Bob Backlund's heartbreaking loss earlier in the day.

Watching August 20, 2000 Nitro and first match is ICP and Vampiro v 3 Count - Great Muta joins Schiavone and Madden for commentary, and despite talking Japanese and screaming at times, Muta is better on commentary then Madden.
Tank Abbott attacks 3 Count afterwards but ICP and Vampiro help attack Abbott and the Demon comes to Abbott's rescue, but Muta comes in and spits mist in Demon's face, then we get Sting out with his bat, I kept expecting more and more people to come out.

August 20, 2000 Nitro
"The Only difference between you and me is Midjah is good looking but I can shave my ass and walk backwards and look better than your girlfriend"
Scott Steiner (talking about Goldberg) as another great moment on the mic

Same Nitro
Vince Russo ands Jeff Jarrett have have like 4 segments each so far, and not even over with the show
also Booker T attacks a "naked" Kevin Nash in the shower, I say naked they Blur it out but you can clearly see he's wearing some gold trunks or something similar

Decided to skip a month ahead to the September 25th 2000 Nitro, to see if things were any better...
RON HOWARD (NARRATOR) It wasn't
Marie, Big Vito's sister comes from the crowd and stops a beatdown at the hands of Reno, apparently this wasn't her only appearance, I was watching at the time and have no memory of her (looked her up and there is little detail of her but apparently she passed away in 2006)
Howard Stern's Wack Pack are judges for a Miss WCW Bikini Contest (or something like that) , weird hearing Mean Gene say Crackhead Bob which gets interrupted by Canadian Hacksaw Jim Duggan who doesn't like Team Canada's captive Major Gunns choice of American themed swimwear, Pamela Paulshock wins without entering the competition, there is a catfight, Schiavone yells "catfight, catfight" it's not like Joey Styles at all
This is also the episode that features That 70's Guy Mike Awesome powerbombing Shaggy 2 Dope and him accidentally falling off the bus, and Vince Russo's WCW Heavyweight title win (which is also the second cage match of the show, and he also beat Booker T who also lost the WCW title match as well at the last Nitro I watched)

Would you rather: be Adam Bomb and get squashed by Earthquake in 30 seconds at WrestleMania, or be any of the 10-man tag guys who didn't get to wrestle at all?
