Two things about the go-home Nitro to Fall Brawl 99:
1)Watching Sid interfere over and over and over again is O-L-D. You can always tell it's gonna happen because it only happens in matches between guys who haven't been on Nitro in forever.
2)I'm pretty sure one of Sid's run-ins botched The Maestro's debut, during the Al Greene/Barry Horowitz match. Maestro starts lowering from the ceiling, then Sid trots out like nothing's happening, and it's never mentioned again.

On the 1st Russo nitro Buff comes out early in the show and it's not on Tony & Bobby's format sheet he says he's the chosen one of the new writers it's all over the Internet then about an hour later he comes out sulking for his match with La Parka he makes a joke of the match and then tells parka to kick him he does and then parka gets the pin and buff pops right up and grabs a mic and asks Russo if he did a good job.Tony then talks about how buff was in line for a big push with the new writers but plans can change quickly. This was so stupid.

Remember when they replaced Goldberg's awesome, imposing theme music for a shitty Megadeath track? Pepperidge Farm remembers. "Heads I win, tails you lose Out of my way I'm coming through Roll the dice don't think twice And we crush, crush'em!"

Stone Cold is wearing a Las Vegas Outlaws jersey at the end of One Night Stand 2005. Love the randomness.
Good thing it only lasted a month or two.

watching the 98 Rumble completely forgot Vader was a face and the Goldust....got even weirder then normal for him and in a minis match one of the competitors is El Torito , sadly he doesn't wear the bull outfit I believe this is actually a different El Torito from the one who was with Los Matadores. This one also was mini Vader, and passed away last year.

And they put out such a garbage show.

Technically I learned this on YouTube, because Superstars still isn't on the Network even though it totally should be.
Memphis manager Ronnie P. Gosset, who I previously believed never appeared in WWE, actually popped up in an early Jeff Jarrett vignette as RP Lee.

Watching the 11/8/99 Nitro I had forgotten how many backstage pre-tapes they had.Miss Elizabeth is in atleast 10 segments on this show and Kimberly is in more than that. There's no good wrestling at all but the matches are quick and feature a ton of run-ins.You can tell their afraid of people switching to raw cause something is always happening.

I learned I can't watch The Rise & Fall Of WCW without falling asleep. Tried. Fell asleep twice this past week.
The irony? I get woken up by Randy Orton's documentary BOTH TIMES!
(I've seen the former before; I liked it. Just wanted to see it again.)

I'm a couple weeks past it but I'm still puzzled by Macho Man's promo the night after Halloween Havoc 99 he came out with George and shockingly it wasn't on Tony or Bobby's format Here's a few brief notes: He claims that Russo wants to put him to pasture in favor of new young talent. Claims Russo did that to Hogan & Flair but that was just fantasy. He's Legit. He's the best ever and will never quit. He then informed us that he is well hung. Then he paused and then said he wants to pass the torch to a young guy that will win all the title and break ratings records.
I got mixed messages from this promo. And none of this is ever mentioned again.

I'm shocked this catchphrase didn't last.

Man, Sting's heel turn in 1999 is lame as hell.

Man, Sting's heel turn in 1999 is lame as hell. Also the fans didn't take to it at all and just continued to cheer the guy.

Huh...Stacy Keibler's first ever Nitro appearance was on the first ever Nitro of the Russo/Ferrara era, as part of the Nitro Girls recruitment contest. Weird, considering all the shit he'd put her through when she won.

May 20, 1996 Nitro
Ric Flair joins the commentary booth for a while and is hilarious in the role. However, I understand why he never did it, because he took 100% of the attention from the matches he called. And he didn't talk about the match much, either. Flair and Bobby drink champagne and eat food the whole time, describing what they're eating, and gradually sounding a little drunk. Somehow its at least as entertaining as Sting/Luger vs. the Faces of Fear, which is actually pretty good. AND, Flair accurately predicts that Miss Elizabeth is attracted to Lex Luger years before they actually dated.

Watching Raw and Nitro back to back in 98 and mid September (night after Fall Brawl 98) has two hot main event title matches in Austin v Shamrock and Goldberg v Sting.
Was this Raw taped was that why Nitro had Goldberg v Sting on to counter Austin v Shamrock? Still must have been an exciting week for wrestling fans.

Yeah, Savage called it quits after that. He got sick and tired of the politics in WCW. He had one more appearance on Thunder in 2000 as a cameo appearance and that was end of the Macho Man down South.

Holy damn, Hall and Nash really didn't give a f*** in 99, did they? Watching Nash's "Vince Impersonation" angle on the buildup to Mayhem, and...wow.

If I recall correctly he was wearing the same sparkly red shirt and hat that he would later wear at the premier of Spider-man. I think they just let him go out there and shoot because whatever. I still wonder who he was talking about. I guess he wasn't talking about anyone in particular and just making a sort of prophecy? I don't know.
