EASILY No Mercy, even though its not as perfect as most people say, I could list 10 HUGE flaws without even trying. Like?

SmackDown 2 on PS1, probably not my all time favorite, but I had the most fun playing that, and it had a great roster, good times

No Mercy was awesome, though only gets the extra points for it being the honda civic of wrestling games when it comes to modifying it on an emulator. I also loved the old WCW THQ games since they had a large Japanese roster and were the influence on No Mercy. In the end though I'd say wrestlefest was just great, another forgotton one is saturday night slam masters which had characters based on Great Muta, Chris Benoit, Superstar Billy Graham, Vader, El Santo and more.

I liked saturday night slam masters a lot, but i'm not sure how well it would hold up now. why they never made a newer version on a current system i'm not sure. Seems like it would work for DS or gba.
my favorite is the current smackdown vs raw. i like the legends in it.

EASILY No Mercy, even though its not as perfect as most people say, I could list 10 HUGE flaws without even trying. Like? 1. Ridiculous amounts of slowdown 2. Crazy flickering 3. Character models sinking into the canvas 4. The ridiculous animation when you get up while holding the R button (where they'll crouch but magically spin to face the opponent.) 5. The mysterious data wipe 6. The story mode was pretty bland (just TV storylines moved over to your system) 7. Characters moved like they had sticks shoved up their ass. 8. Clunky character models in general (leagues above WCW/NWO Revenge and WM2000 though) 9. All faces in create-a-wrestler mode were just faces from the various superstars. 10. The lack of impact from any weapon...

In the original N64 No Mercy game, not the emu version - did anyone figure out who all the spare faces in the edit section were for .... some I recognised like Big Show but others remained a mystery.
Anyone know or point me in the direction of answer on the internet?

my favorite wrestling games of all time aren't even mainstream titles....the graphics aren't great, the sound is average, and the move-list isn't up to par with current-gen titles...buuuut, they were created by one man...and that man put stuff in these games that i believe every wrestling game should have. if you don't care about graphics and only want gameplay, this game is fantastic. wrestling encore www.mdickie.com/prev_wencore.htmif you like games and you like wrestling, i can almost guarantee you'll love this game. and that ends my cheap plug.

it's got well over 30 moves...with more added every now and then through plugins, m'lad. he also updates the graphics and gamplay elements on a regular basis, too. looks like somebody is too lazy to do their homework. you making fun of the game off of stuff facts that aren't entirely accurate is like me making fun of your name 'cause it's three first names...kinda like larry, curly, and moe...which is the names of folks who would probably make similar accusations off of a game they obviously didn't play enough of. oooh...i kinda sorta made an insult...perhaps i'm turning heel?

I'm actually still playing No Mercy (I broke out my N64 again a few weeks ago) and I'm still unlocking things.
My biggest problem, though, is that I can't figure out how to get 100% on any of the Championship seasons. Any tips? And does anyone know why the only titles I have available to play are the World, European, and Hardcore? They used to be available to play, and now they're not for some reason. Maybe because I need to 100% complete a title season?

Just as I thought, No Mercy is running away with this. Where's the love for some of these other games people?

Here Comes The Pain > No Mercy
Sorry but age and being a classic doesnt make you better...when a better game comes out...erm, thats the better game obviously...
The ONLY thing that coulda made HCTP better is if they had the grapple system that was used in SD 1-4...
SD v R 06 would be alot better then SD5 IF: weapons didnt disapear, weapons werent slow, there was always a table under the ring, some grapple set ups werent slow as hell(no one grapples in the first place to do a move, so NO on deffinatly pulls back and goes in at .02 MPH), more moves were realistic(in the SD5 and 4...alot of moves you could do from the inside of the ring to the outside), AND...if the A.I didnt completley suck...
They really shoulda just took Smackdown 5 and tweaked the graphics and threw in online play when they were coming out with 06...

Here comes the pain is fine. it's not better than No Mercy or any of the other Aki wrestling games. I can play them now and it doesnt matter if its "classic" its better. period.

Well, to me, you're wrong about HCTP being better than No Mercy, but you totally NAILED a few of the things I hate about the SD series as of late (Tables being unavailable in non-table/TLC matches, they took out a lot of the moves you can do from the ring to the floor, like the one "super powerbomb" that could throw someone over the top rope if done right. I killed everyone I knew as Mike Awesome with that move)
