So upon seeing this recently, it got me thinking.
The Coneheads are such an odd choice for a commerical endorsement in 2015. Its been over 20 years since the movie, and nearly 40 since the skits. Just seems so totally random unless there is some Coneheads renaissance going on I don't know about.
What are some other examples of this?

I clicked on this thread fully expecting it to be inspired by the Ringo Starr Skechers ads.

My favorite terrible product endorsement was a pedophile drinking Lipton Brisk Iced Tea on the beach on Dexter.
Lipton Brisk Iced Tea, the preferred drink of pedophiles?!?

I find it really distracting with commercials I see now with Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco in them. Why are Sheldon and Penny trying to sell me whatever it is they are selling? And why is Shatner her dad?

I remember seeing this one during the Bears/Colts Superbowl.
Thought, wait a second that voice sounds like Grim Reaper, the band Beavis and Butthead tore apart in many episodes.
Googled it a few day later and found this:
Yep the lead singer from Grim Reaper was in a Super Bowl commercial in the 21st century.

I still think that Sting (As in the wrestler) appearing in a Sprite commercial was rather odd. Now I am not saying it's because of Sting, because I have all the respect in the world for him, and also because wrestling was hot during that time, but it just seemed kind of odd. Plus, WCW was losing out to the WWF at the time.

This basically the thread I had yesterday lol. Guess I just didn't phrase it as well.
Someone mentioned Ringo and sketchers but him doing pizza with the Monkees (sans Mike) is even odder
