"A lifetime ban from WWE events" You're supposed to stop guard rail jumpers, not give them a greater incentive to do it! This isn't going to stop them, we need stricter punishments like no more Jerry Lawler on commentary or Sheamus banned from television.

The thing is, prosecuting these people isn't going to change anything. At worst, it'll just increase their boldness since they've only got one chance to hop the barricade, and now if they start serving time for it? It could get really bad. I understand this mind state, but c'mon...I don't think people are willing to be criminally charged for a slim chance of being shown on camera for 0.5 seconds. You never know these days and it all depends on how far WWE wants to push the charges.

This is top notch reporting right here. Glad that PWInsider was able to provide such an amazing analysis and get sourced on this scoop! I've watched too much Parks and Rec lately, because all of this stating the obvious newz comes through in Perd's voice now. "We've been able to identify the man in the ring last night as the man who jumped over the barricade and stepped through the ropes."

There's only one solution:
Flaming, barbed-wire barricades.
Surrounded by tables.
With Dudleys in charge of security.
OK, maybe that's a lot of solutions rolled into one, but I think it would work.

I'd be shocked if WWE could charge people with trespassing on property they don't own.

Just do what they used to do to fans who jumped the guard rails and enter the ring, they got the shit stomped out of them by the wrestlers before the cops took them away. It's all fun and games until some nutjob tries to take out one of wrestlers.

I'd be shocked if WWE could charge people with trespassing on property they don't own. If you rent a property you can charge people with trespass if they wander in, no? They're renting a property for a few days so I'd assume the same rights apply.

I think REAL streakers as in BUTT NAKED people would be edited out for TV and PPV. Even if it's live there are a few seconds time to do so.

I miss the good old days of WCW when a fan would jump the rail and would get destroyed by the wrestler in the ring.

Didn't they do a skit awhile back where JBL tried to stop people from jumping the barricade somewhere in Texas?

What's the fullest extent of the law going to be? Like...a fine? It's trespassing, I doubt they even do county jail time. It depends on the severity of the offense obviously. But no, the penalty wont be incredibly severe. This "warning" or whatever you want to call it is not going to stop it completely, but it may cause some to think twice which for this type of thing is sometimes all it takes to stop someone from doing it. And while I agree with a previous poster that WWE's predictability is their biggest problem, rail jumpers or whatever you want to call them don't add to the show whatsoever bar that brief "wtf" moment when you see some dweeb doing it. All it takes is one psycho to hop the rail with a knife or some other object and harm one of the workers and the shitstorm would be unbelievable. Frankly, I find it funny when there's idiots on the field, but this stuff doesnt help the show or storylines. I might be remembering it wrong, but wasn't there an Eddie v RVD match where a fan came in and tipped the ladder over, they don't even need a weapon in the right situation.
