DEAR GOD SAY IT ISN'T SO. imdb.com/name/nm0419645/Yes, I realize I'm more than two weeks late stumbling upon this news, but this SUCKS. Tony Jay, best voice actor around, and hero to all of us deep-voiced narrator-types everywhere. Here's to Frollo, Megabyte, Virgil, and the countless other voices. </downs bottle of rum, collapses>

Never knew he was the voice of Megabyte from ReBoot.
RIP
In ReBoor terms, the User beat him in the Game Cube

Never watched either of those shows.
Reboot was the CGI type thing from the early 90s right? HATED it.

I have never heard of any of those characters before. Watch Hunchback of Notre Dame... Claude Frollo is a GREAT Disney villian.

Never watched either of those shows. Reboot was the CGI type thing from the early 90s right? HATED it. Ach man, where's your taste in television?! I was all about him as Virgil in Mighty Max. That show had him, Rob Paulsen as Max, and Tim Curry as Skullmaster. Amazing cast.

I'm sad too. Tony Jay had one of the most recognizable voices ever.

Oh wow, I had no idea who taht was. Then I saw how many times I have heard his voice and never payed attention. Wow, that is too bad. I will probably look back but I missed what happened to him, anyone want to clarify.
This is just as mind boggling as when yesterday i found out Trini the yellow power ranger died in a car crash a few years ago. Sucks when people die early.

The site says Jay died at 71, complications from cancer surgery. At least he didn't die young, but it just sucks.
Like I said, I really looked up to the dude; I would like to try voice acting one day, and he's probably my biggest influence in that field. I've always had a deep voice, so hearing how much he could do with his was kind of a built-in lesson for me.
What makes it worse is that this probably kills all chances of a ReBoot comeback; they ended the series on a cliffhanger, and Megabyte was coming back, but without Jay, I couldn't imagine them finding a voice actor who could fill his shoes.

I could've sworn the series ended pretty much climactically...there was a big opera n' everything...and I think Bob came back.

Yeah I post on a Reboot message board so I heard about it when it happened. It sucks cause he has one of the best voices EVER. I could've sworn the series ended pretty much climactically...there was a big opera n' everything...and I think Bob came back. Yeah, America didn't get the later seasons, but the UK got the finish of the series.
