He was a jobber in Memphis also. Ok-I feel better now knowing why I can hear Dave Brown in my head say his name There are a couple of USWA matches on Youtube with him doing job duty.

Was always interesting to hear how different announcers and commentators would pronounce his name. A few would try to pronounce it "rapper" and a few others would put emphasis on the second syllable so that it sounded kind of like "repair"

Someone should had sit dude down and told him to come up with a better ring name.

There's a semi-local car/TV business around where I live whose owner is Tom Raper. Used to advertise a LOT more than they do now. It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I thought to myself 'What an unfortunate name.' For those who don't know: Their headquarters aren't far from home, and I still see the ads on a semi-frequent basis.
