Christian is not a Janetty. John Morrison is not a Janetty. Tito Santana is not a Janetty. Ron Simmons is not a Janetty. Chavo is also not a Janetty.

No way in hell should the first black World champion be called a "Janetty". If every team has a Janetty--which I disagree with--then the Janetty of the APA would have to be Ron Simmons because he retired and JBL went on to have a successful singles career. You can't judge a Janetty on what they did before they were in a famous tag team. So, perhaps, we should not throw around the term or even use it. If we're going to, then it leads to a lot of strange statements. Hulk Hogan would be the Janetty of the Edge/Hogan team.

I'd be willing to accept this if not for Chavo. Chavo was absolutely the Jannetty. Chavo managed to continue to have a consecutive seven year career with the company with a character that evolved passed "The other guy from Los Guerreros" and even saw champsionship gold and highlighted feuds. He's never been remembered as "the other guy from Los Guerreros." By definition, he's not "The Janetty."

We should retire the term Janetty. Besides most of the guys never jumped out of windows via acts of cowardism.

By the OP's definition: -Weaker member of the team: Check -The guy who gets less focus: Check -Is the poorer wrestler: Check -The weaker promo: Check -Had less singles success: Check By YOUR definition: -One guy who became universally considered one of the greatest performers of all time, and the other guy who could never escape the shadow: Check Chavo being the Jannetty to Eddie's HBK doesn't necessarily mean any disrespect towards Chavo, but he absolutely was so.

I just can't bring myself to call Morrison 'the Jannetty' when he's doing so well in Lucha Underground and AAA while Miz has been stuck in midcard hell for however many years it's been. Morrison is doing the much better work right now. During that period when Miz was WWE Champ and shortly after that, yes, Mundo would have been the Jannetty. Harder to say that now.

Chavo is ABSOLUTELY The Jannetty. He's literally the guy who's universally remembered as "Eddie's Nephew". To the point where Kurt Angle had to mention Eddie just to try to put over Chavo.

Jannetty was a talented cat. He even carried Shawn to some good matches in their ic title feud.

Poor Janetty.
I mean hell, the guy didn't become one of the greatest of all time despite being a very serviceable wrestler especially in his role as a tag guy and now his name is forever treated as an insult.
I'll grant you that MANY of his career wounds were self-inflicted, but it still seems unfair. It's like he got Munsoned out in the middle of nowhere.

Feel free to quote me if I'm wrong but Jason Jordan will be the Janetty of his team with Gable. Strongly disagree.

Not every team has a Janetty, you weirdos. The "Janetty" stigma comes from the HUGE discrepancy between Shawn and Marty's post-Rockers careers. You had one guy who became universally considered one of the greatest performers of all time, and the other guy who could never escape the shadow of the tag team itself. Two guys having successful singles run with one achieving more does not a "Janetty" make. Christian is not a Janetty. John Morrison is not a Janetty. Tito Santana is not a Janetty. Ron Simmons is not a Janetty. Even Chavo is not a Janetty. A "Janetty" is a Brian Dunkleman. Look at a team and think, is one of them really a Brian Dunkleman? The problem is that WWE pushes this narrative. When one partner is more successful than the other post-breakup, the Rocker situation is immediately brought up.

The only way Jordan doesn't become a "Jannetty" is if WWE goes out of their way to bury Gable and force-push Jordan. Gable is the only reason that Jordan even "matters" right now, otherwise he'd just be a generic jobber.

In some teams both members are the Jannety.

Leif Cassidy is the Janetty of the New Rockers Lief Cassidy went on to become one of the most over performers of the Attitude Era, and won multiple titles. Marty Jannetty went on to become a jobber in WCW, and then work the minor indies for 20 years and counting. Poor Marty is even the Jannetty of the New Rockers.

Pretty much this, Jordan has been in the system for years - hell, he was teaming with pre-Tyler Breeze Mike Dalton on the early days of Full Sail NXT - and only now has found his niche due to Gable.

Janetty self destructed in a very public manner every time the WWF/E gave him a chance so there is only one Janetty. These days if a guy shows signs of being like that they wouldn't make it beyond developmental.

Chavo is ABSOLUTELY The Jannetty. He's literally the guy who's universally remembered as "Eddie's Nephew". To the point where Kurt Angle had to mention Eddie just to try to put over Chavo. But he deliberately took on the character of "Eddie's nephew" as a heel to get under people's skin, and it successfully worked for him as a heel. When it's that deliberate, and successful with intentional crowd reactions, it doesn't make sense to make that a mark against the guy.
