Of course he couldn't sanction Jim Carrey's buffoonery. He was doing plenty of his own.

Credit where it's due to Jones, he clearly realized what kind of movie he was in from jump street, and just ran with it, making it as silly and over the top as possible. Makes his Two-Face oddly enjoyable.

Good god Batman Forever blows
Carrey I'll give a pass too he was clearly doing Frank Gorshin's Riddler, TLJ was just terrible. Shame really because there were moments where we could see some good (SMALL moments)

IIRC the explanation for TLJ's performance (that leaked out not long after the movie) was that he was going thru his divorce and just nosedived right into whatever the hell Schumacher wanted - and probably beyond.
Oof, this was painful.

I'm bummed we didn't get Clint Eastwood as Two Face in the 60's show

Even as a kid I knew TLJ was better than this. I loved the movie and I went to see it twice, but his Two-Face always made me roll my eyes - except for when he screams "Why can't you just die?" and he fired a bazooka at Batman, that's still awesome.

Two Face is my favorite of Batman's Rogues (he might be my favorite supervillain period) and it bums me out he had to play second banana in both his big screen appearances.

Yeah, it's easy to forget that this was made during a time when comic book movie villains that were taken as serious dramatic characters with depth were the exception not the norm. The movie called for Two-Face to be a cackling, howling, cartoonish stereotype, and by God that's what Tommy gave us.

Watching that compilation, someone obviously didn't give Schumacher and TLJ the memo that Two-Face and The Joker are two different characters.

Two-Face being second fiddle is kind of how I expect him to be, sure he has a great dynamic with Bruce Wayne/Batman but as an actual super-criminal h'e just a gangster with a gun and a scarred face (with an obsession with Dualism).
Put him up against other heroes like Green Arrow or Daredevil and he is significantly unthreatening compared to other Batman rogues.

I dunno, I actually think Two-Face is right there on Green Arrow's level.
