The idea Luke Harper is the second best in ring guy in WWE is comical to WWE. Who are better?

Harper is far from the 2nd best in WWE, but that's not a knock on him as he is excellent and in terms of wrestling talent is one of the best big men they have ever had, by a long way. However: He's younger than he looks. Besides, for his time in WWE, he's been booked as a pretty formidable guy. Wouldn't be shocking. He's a couple months off 36, which isn't "aging veteran", but it's older than Cesaro & Ziggler by a year, Bryan & Rowan by 2, Owens by 5, Dean, Rusev, Big E & Roman by 6, Seth by 7, Bray by 8. He's even got 2 years on Kofi who has been around for ages, and is older than Barrett by a year. 36 may not be that old in absolute terms, especially for a big guy, but for a big guy who works as athletic a style as him it means a little more wear, and relative to a lot of the guys around him, he doesn't match up well age-wise. I love Harper, I've been a huge fan of him since I saw him in Chikara and hoped he'd get signed to WWE back in 2008, but given that he's older than a lot of his peers, and that they've been loathe to do anything with him beyond being a stable's muscle, and a hot-potato IC title reign, I doubt he'll ever get a serious singles push. He should be his generation's Kane or Undertaker but, while after Mark Henry I'm reluctant to ever say "it's too late", I don't think he will ever get a sustained solo push.

I more just mean he's younger than he looks in that he looks 40 something, given the bald spot.

The idea Luke Harper is the second best in ring guy in WWE is comical to WWE. Who are better? Seth, Bryan (if he counts presently), Cesaro, Ziggler, Kofi, Cena, Owens, Neville, Orton, Christian (if he counts) Cody Rhodes and Kalisto and those are just off the top of my head. Harper is a great heavyweight but second best overall in WWE? Never a hope.

Harper's a great promo? Did I miss those? All I remember is "Ah'm a team playuuuh" and that's it.

His IC title run was pretty forgettable, not to mention really random with no build.
They've also given him a character who doesn't really emote besides that wide eyed look and he can't really cut loose on the mic with that stoic character either.
If you look at guys built up similar to Bruiser Brody like Harper, Mike Knox, Sylvester Terkay, Vance Archer, Tyler Reks (his dark gimmick), it's hard to be a "WWE Supertar" with that character.

There will be money when he gets a loser gets shaved storyline.
Harper vs. Bryan, hair vs. hair match.

Ridiculously underrated and overlooked performer. He deserves so much better than this modern-day Barbarian thing he's been saddled with. Keep his backstory intentionally mysterious, much like they should have done with Rowan. Sometimes less is more... I, for one, could connect much better with Luke Harper if I found out he enjoys foreign films and can rock the f*** out of a Sudoku puzzle.

He's pretty awesome, and I really dug him as the monster of DGUSA. However, to me he falls into the category of "not everyone needs a huge push, some guys a re just there".

When Show or Kane retires. He stands on his own and doesn't need Bray to a certain extent. It seem like he was going to be the Authority hitman reinforcing their hypocrisy of having guys that fit "WWE mold".
His time will come because the man could work. I always thought they broke off the Wyatt family because he was starting to stick out more than Bray

Nah.
I don't hate the guy but I don't see what many others do. He's a formidable wrestler, but I hate the Bruiser Brody schtick he's shown in the past. If the Wyatt split last year has shown me anything, then he didn't really do very much outside of a very short unmemorable run with the IC title.
And I've seen some of his stuff from ROH, and again I just didn't think THAT much of it.

I more just mean he's younger than he looks in that he looks 40 something, given the bald spot. Ah gotcha. yeah it's weird, he rocks the long hair regardless but it's vanishing faster than HBK's did. And Harper is a perfectly serviceable promo from his indy work, just in a stable with Bray of course he's gonna be mute, because whatever his material may be Bray is a fantastic talker.

Eventually. He's too young in his career and hasn't shown much of what he is capable of.

I'd be fine if they just let him randomly come out, big boot the shit out of people, then leave.

Maybe one day Cena will need someone new to beat make look good in defeat, so eventually they could push him for a month or two...

What's this nonsense about pushing midcarders going on in this thread? It's the most ridiculous thing Vince would hear all year. Then he'll throw us out of his office before we can complain about Local Men or suggest Cena turn heel.

...oh. Oh. Yeah, they might push Luke Harper down the road... I like his in-ring work, and if they push this "Face of Desolation" thing, he could potentially be an interesting Nu!Taker or something. But the booking has to be there, and... well, let's not hold our breaths.
