Maybe that's why people still try to argue he isn't a racist even though he said it. African American wrestlers who have worked with Hogan have come to his defense. That has to count for something... To be honest, maybe it does. I might be a little more understanding myself if he had maybe just said something kinda racist but not meant it or something, but when he is outright on video saying "I'm a racist" it isn't anymore black and white than that, pun intended.

That time he moved his lips. Maybe that's why people still try to argue he isn't a racist even though he said it. He really should have used that as his defense. "Brother, let me tell you, I'm a pathological liar. So, when I said those racist things, I was lying!" "...wait, how do we know you're not lying about that." "You really can't, jack." *sits back comfortably with hands on head* The next week, Raw has a Welcome Home Hulkster celebration in Tampa.

I'm convinced his claim that he got offered the grill deal over George Foreman is bullshit That one at least seems to be semi-plausible, just in that Hogan's been offered a number of endorsement deals, he just doesn't have a tendency to pick winners. There may be some kernel of truth in it, or he could have been offered an endorsement on a similar product and is just confusing them. No one's accused him of having the best memory.

That Bret should be embarrassed because tiny old HBK had to shoot pin him in Boston at Wrestlemania 17 for the Montreal Screwjob.

There may be some kernel of truth in it, or he could have been offered an endorsement on a similar product and is just confusing them. No one's accused him of having the best memory. The version I suspect is closest to true is that the creators of the grill had a short list of celebrities they intended to approach for an endorsement, Hogan being one of them, but that George Foreman was always their #1 pick and that Hogan heard this somewhere through the grape vine and it morphed into "They were gonna give it to me brother, but I just didn't pick up the phone in time!" edit: also wort considering-at the time the grill first started becoming popular, Foreman was in the midst of a comeback as a boxer, which he attributed to a healthy diet, while Hogan was in the midst of testifying about taking steroids. Kind of casts a pall on the idea of him as a spokesman for a line of healthy cooking grills.

The Metallica story probably happened one of two ways; Either James & Lars were backstage at Nitro one night and Hulk said "hey dudes, I play bass, maybe we could jam sometime?" & they said "yeah sure, whatevs Hollywood"
Or……
Hulk was racist in front of Metallica & hey, racist & bassist rhyme so that's the story he goes with

I remember Lars was straight up asked if Hogan was ever in the running and he just laughed and denied it and Hogan had to backtrack with something like "oh I just sent in a demo tape and never heard back"

I think that Hulk doesn't understand the concept of the internet that people now can look up for his statements and debunk them.

Every word in this book is a lie. haven't read this since i was 13, but i remember at the time i felt the most egregious lie was that horace hogan got super over by joining the nwo. i'm sure there's worse. but what a crazy imagination the hulkster had on that one! also, i didn't realize this was the cover of an audio book for about 30 seconds, and for those 30 seconds, i wondered why the heck hulk hogan's book would point out that hulk hogan read it? like, is this some kind of SUPER ghostwriting thing they're admitting too? and then it clicked with me.

Supposedly, he claimed that Taker hurt his neck by tombstoning Hogan onto a chair at Survivor Series 1991 and poor Taker felt bad about it for years until someone showed Taker the clip of it. Hogan's head is a good foot away from hitting the chair.
Let's not forget his "back injury" with Michaels, but it was fine enough for Hogan to beat Michaels first.

]I love the stories in that article. My favourite has to be Hogan partying with John Belushi the night of Wrestlemania III, four years after Belushi's death. My favorite one is when he said that he out partied John Belushi, when Belushi had been death for years at that point. Dusty also claimed that he used to hang out with John Belushi, but it was also after his death. Weekend at Belushi's! Starring Hulk Hogan and Dusty Rhodes

Every word in this book is a lie. I still love the story of that first book where I think two guys separatley listened to Hogan tell his tall tales and then tried to write the book together. However when they came together to write none of the stories, dates or anything matched up. Some reviews- "The book starts out with a truly emotional story of a chubby Terry Bollea (Hogan), then it gets truly ridiculous. I do not mean to insult this book or the man Hulk Hogan himself, but this book has so many untrue stories and things that never happened - even a casual fan of wrestling can know that some of these things never happened. It is a definite must read for any fan of wrestling (love him or hate him), simply to chuckle at Hogan's tall tales, such as Hogan meeting a "Make a Wish" kid before he was to wrestle at Summer Slam 1992. Hogan wrestled his match, but was unable to find the kid sitting in the crowd. When he returned backstage he discovered the child had died before seeing Hogan's match; Hogan was so touched, he wrote a song about it and released it on the Hulk Rules album. Too bad the entire story is false (Hogan never even wrestled at SS92). In the book Hogan talks about steroid usage, his feud with Andre the Giant (10 years before WM3), how he got the role in Rocky 3, his match with the Rock at WMX8, beating up Ricky Choshu in Japan, the end of his WCW career, why he became a villain and much more. It is extremely enjoyable to read because of the tall tales and you can indeed finish the book in a matter of hours with the book's huge pictures and large text. The entire book should be filed under fiction or comedy." "What a life Hulk Hogan has had and you can read all about it in this book. The book starts off with Hulk Hogan body slamming all the dinosaurs in the world into extinction. Hulk Hogan then created fire and invented the wheel on the same day. Hogan then went on to save Jesus Christ's life and defeated the roman invaders single handidly. Hogan then went on to discover the United States of America and became their first and greatest president. He was then recruited for the First World War and won it single handidly. Hogan then went to the Berlin Olympics in Nazi Germany and won every single medal in both the male and female events. He then defeated Hitler in a no holds barred match in Berlin to win the Second World War. Hogan then started a pop band named the Beatles with his good pal John Lennon. Hogan quit the band because he thought he was carrying the other members. Hogan then defeated George Foreman in the rumble in the jungle to win his 99th world heavyweight boxing championship. Hogan then took up acting and won 10 Oscars for his various roles in the godfather, raging bull and Mr. Nanny. Hogan then decided to settle down with his wife (Marilyn Monroe) and have 26 kids. WHOA, what a book and I didn't even mention his wrestling career." --- Also an actual quote- “I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich, and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days, but it didn’t work out.” Lars said he didn't know who he was when asked. --- Hogan has also gone on record saying that he didn’t know the outcome of the WrestleMania III main-event with André, even as the match was going on. He contends that there was zero indication of who would win or how the match would go. Hogan even says that he wasn’t told he would bodyslam André until seconds before it happened, and that André was the person who made the call. This is insane. There’s no way Vince McMahon leaves the biggest match in his company’s history up to the wrestlers to decide. There’s no way Hogan goes to the ring without knowing he’s bodyslamming André and winning. This is just ludicrous. Add in the fact that Bret Hart confirmed during a Legends of Wrestling episode that André was all for putting Hogan over in the big match, and I’m taking Bret’s word over Hogan’s. Also, Hulk said André “passed on” a couple of days after their match. Spoiler: André died six years after their match. uproxx.com/prowrestling/2015/04/tell-me-a-lie-7-stories-hulk-hogan-tells-that-nobody-actually-believes/1/
