If Benoit had brain damage, paranoia might have been part of that. Plus the fact many of his best friends were dying at a young age within a very short period of time. I remember reports that Benoit became very distant after the death of Eddie Guerrero and became really distant after Johnny Grunge passed away. Two of some of his best friends passing away before 40 within a short few months.

If Benoit had brain damage, paranoia might have been part of that. I remember hearing that in the months leading up to it he had started repeatedly changing how he'd drive to airports and was insisting he was being followed.

Benoit only did what he did because he knew he could never beat CM Punk.

Benoit only did what he did because he knew he could never beat CM Punk. It's always about blaming Punk. So edgy, so cool

Benoit only did what he did because he knew he could never beat CM Punk. Being serious for a moment, I've always kind of wondered just what that was like for Punk. First someone he probably idolized to some degree and was looking forward to tearing the house down with (and who he'd already spent the last year sharing a locker room with) no-showed their match under mysterious circumstances then it turns out at the time the match was due to go on he was probably already dead, and on top of that not only was he still not considered a viable third-tier champion first in the face of his opponent no-showing, then not even in the face of him dying and the only way they were willing to let him have a turn with the belt was when Morrison got wellnessed and they'd already announced a title match between them.

By the same guy who put a bomb in Vince Mc Mahon's limo the week before! We should have Leslie Nielsen investigate this.

By the same guy who put a bomb in Vince Mc Mahon's limo the week before! We should have Leslie Nielsen investigate this. I'll be honest, when I first read the headline that Benoit had died I thought it was part of the Vince being blown up storyline. That a serial killer was going about the locker room killing every person in the company. It wasn't until I saw that Nancy and Daniel were dead also that I realised it was not a storyline.

B - killed his wife, then realised what he had done and decided to kill himself. He then killed his son because he didn't want him to live without his parents, then killed himself. So you're saying he killed himself, came back as a zombie, killed his son, and then killed himself again? That's the most believable theory yet!

And what Bill was saying that he found it unfathomable that Chris could kill his own son. "That's not the guy I knew". Benoit may have expressed thoughts of paranoia to Apter (and others) which Apter is basing his opinion on.
Anyway, the Benoit talk was basically 2 to 3 minutes of an hour long interview and while you can tell Jericho was taken off guard with Bill's opinion, the interview itself was a terrific listen. Nothing to get worked up to over and nothing really to warrant the ridicule and ire directed towards Apter.

There is absolutely no chance that Benoit himself was murdered. I suppose his theory that Nancy and Daneil were killed by someone else while he was away is a small, outside possibility, but the most reasonable answer is that he did it. Either way you slice it, I can't think of any way to murder someone using his weightlifting equipment. The only way to end up in the position he was found in is for him to do it to himself.

Just listened to it. What a carny blowhard. "I'm responsible for Lawler vs. Kaufman" "I was the fourth Von Erich" etc. It just makes his Benoit story less reasonable.

To be fair, I believe Lawler has even said Apter is responsible for Kaufman coming to Memphis. Yeah, on WWE.con no less www.wwe.com/classics/kaufman-and-the-king-30-years-later-26040571

Apter took the idea to Vince Sr. first, who turned it down, and then took it to Lawler.
