There hasn't been a good Rumble since 2010. It had a surprise return that actually meant something and thus the outcome wasn't predictable as hell.

For real. I miss when Wrestlemania feuds would actually start there, feuds would pay off there, shocking things would happen, rather than the "guy comes out and eliminates some people then that's it" style they have now. It's awful and it's doing more damage to the Rumble brand than the poor picks for winners the last few years.

Last year's match was just poorly put together. Lots of weird booking decisions that clearly didn't pay off in the long run.

I'd have Cena come out number and toss everyone as they slid in right out the other side. 29 eliminations, no offensives maneuvers. Also, whoever has the title should go out faster. People need to know Cena is #1, no matter what.
At WrestleMania just solder the belt right to his waist and finally ratings go up.

For the sake of the match concept, they NEED to book a fan favourite to win it next year. A proper one. Reigns might almost be back to that now, but it's almost impossible to get the golden child stink off unless he goes ALL THE WAY down the bottom and starts again, so there could easily be another backlash.
And it's also killed the "Rumble winner to WM title winner" percentage again. They're two from eight since 2008, and neither of those winners (Sheamus in 2012, Cena in 2013) were exactly beloved either.

No matter what they do, nothing will top the disappointment of last year when Bryan was eliminated quickly and Shattered Dreams Productions popped up on the Titantron behind him.

You need stories other than the final result. 2010 had CM Punks in ring promo, HBKs desperation to get another shot at Undertaker, Edges revenge on Jericho and if memory serves the Miz/MVP feud was furthered during the rumble match and Cena/Batista started their rivalry.
Last year was just Reigns v the local men. No one else did anything you may as well have used 27 jobbers.

Well, I hope they at least avoid systematically eliminating all of the fan-favorites so that by the end, nobody gives a shit like they did the 2015 Rumble.

You need stories other than the final result. I agree. I just noticed that The Big Show has never won a Royal Rumble match before... He won 2000. It's why he winded up in the main event. They used different footage and that badass security guard they used to have as a witness to prove Rock's feet hit first. Rock is down as the official winner, but Big Show really did win, it's why he was in the Mania 2000 main event.

Didn't Jamie Noble book the last 2 rumbles instead of Pat Patterson?

I'd have Owens win it.
Reigns will eventually be champ, but that could happen at any time. He doesn't need the Royal Rumble/Wrestlemania coronation.

I always hate how the winner is predictable. There's always like only 4 or 5 guys who have a chance of winning it.
They should throw us a curveball and have some perpetual midcard schmuck somehow manage to win it; that way future Rumbles would be unpredictable since it would make it seem like anyone has a chance of winning it. They dropped the ball the time they teased Santino won.

Royal Rumble is suplex city.
Brock enters number one. Enter, Suplex, eliminate, repeat.

They really need to do something big and unpredictable this year and really mix up the formula. Not like it could hurt, the title match is probably doomed to be at most the fourth most important match on the card at Mania this year anyway what with Taker, Triple H, Lesnar, Cena, and possibly Rock all cluttering it up with their stuff.
So what's going to happen is they're going to spend the weeks building up to it just saying, "Roman's going to win again, you guys," then they're going to do a big showdown with him against, I dunno, probably Big Show again at the end where he does indeed win again and the crowd turns on him all over again as they go right back to telling you how he's the chosen one.

I'll be optimistic and say that they'll do a better job then they did on the last one, although that won't be hard as I don't think you could book a worse match then 2015.
They definitely need new bookers for it as whoever's been doing it in recent years hasn't been doing a good job. Since 2009 the only genuinely good rumble in my IMO was 2013. The rest were either average or terrible.

I'm gonna say it: Make it Ziggler

I'm gonna say it: Make it Ziggler Ziggy would have been a great choice instead of Reigns in the 2015 Rumble, but as it stands right now, he's got no momentum, and even the hardcores are beginning to sour on his progressively awful character.

It only took 3 or 4 weeks to rescue him building up to being hotter than a volcano for Survivor Series. All they have to do is do that again once this crap is off him.

The Rumble needs finishes like that and actually follow through on them.
