The stage is set!
AL Central Champions: Kansas City Royals (#1 seed) AL East Champions: Toronto Blue Jays (#2) AL West Champions: Texas Rangers (#3) AL Wild Card Game: Houston Astros at New York Yankees
NL Central Champions: St. Louis Cardinals (#1) NL West Champions: Los Angeles Dodgers (#2) NL East Champions: New York Mets (#3) NL Wild Card Game: Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh Pirates
Caveat: the bad news for a prediction thread here is that, more than most other playoffs, MLB's are largely a crapshoot. Regular season overall or head-to-head records, home field advantage, perceived momentum going into the big stage...none of it matters!
The good news, though? It means that any prediction you make has an equal chance of being right! So roll the dice!
I'll say:
AL Wild Card: Houston over New York NL Wild Card: Pittsburgh over Chicago
ALDS 1: Kansas City over Houston ALDS 2: Toronto over Texas
NLDS 1: Pittsburgh over St. Louis NLDS 2: New York over Los Angeles
ALCS: Toronto over Kansas City NLCS: Pittsburgh over New York
World Series: Toronto over Pittsburgh
Given how random MLB playoff predictions already are, I'm hesitant to guess at how long each series will go, but don't let that stop you.

AL Wildcard: Yankees over Astros
ALDS 1: Yankees over Royals ALDS 2: Blue Jays over Rangers
ALCS: Blue Jays over Yankees
NL Wildcard: Pirates over Cubs
NLDS 1: Cardinals over Pirates NLDS 2: Dodgers over Mets
NLCS: Dodgers over Cardinals
World Series: Blue Jays over Dodgers
Yeah, these are sure to go wrong.

Cards-Royals World Series. Winner is a tossup.
Cubs shit the bed in hilarious fashion and figure out a way to blame everybody but themselves.

A year after losing 89 games to win 97 when no one expected that shitting the bed is impossible. Even if they get shelled on Wednesday it was still a fantastic year.

To everyone picking Pittsburgh over Chicago have you seen Jake Arrieta pitch this year? Sure have, and he has every chance of winning that game single-handedly. But it's a single game, anything can happen, and I just feel like Pittsburgh is the most complete team in the NL; given that most of the playoffs are a crapshoot, I just want to put my money on the team I think has the best opportunity based on its talent. Should we add point values to predicting each round, bonuses for picking number of games to win, etc.? Silly, I know, but might be fun for a laugh.

If Kershaw performs poorly in the playoffs, do the Dodgers trade him?

You know you're getting blamed when the Apocalypse occurs, right? There was no apocalypse when the Red Sox won All-Star game changed from one of the greatest sporting events there ever was to a "home field advantage" vomit fest. So yeah, kinda ruined the game. (Stress on the word "game.") Thanks, Red Sox.

If Kershaw performs poorly in the playoffs, do the Dodgers trade him? Never. You don't have a player of caliber and then trade him over an incredibly small sample size of starts, not unless you're getting Mike Trout in return. Kershaw is a generational talent, and a few bad games in October do nothing to change that. That said, as a Mets fan, I'd appreciate it if he'd deign to look human in Game One.

I don't consider the Wild Card round games to be the playoffs, so I'll abstain on my predictions until late Wednesday or early Thursday. But let's just say I'm rooting for the Cubs to go all the way.
