The documentary is well done, but if I had to criticise it I'd say that there are two main issues: If you weren't already familiar with Sting's career, you probably wouldn't learn THAT much about him from watching this. You'd have a general idea of who he was and what he did, but it was still relatively vague. The second point is that as with everything related to his coming to WWE, it reeks of the whole "Hey, look, he's finally come to his senses and made his way to a REAL wrestling company" kinda thing that they've been going for. I get it to an extent, but it's annoying that it seems to be the overall theme of this last run of his. Sting comes across as a really cool guy in the interviews. Very humble. Luger actually comes across really well too. I've never been a Luger fan at all, but it's nice to see that he's seemingly put all of his troubles behind him. Or the fact they show just as much of his WWE carrier as they do his WCW career.

Anyone catch when it cut to a Hogan interview, it said: Hulk Hogan, Former WCW Superstar. I was going to ask when they finished editing this.

I just finished the documentary portion this morning. They definitely do the typical gross WWE bullshit where they pretend like WCW wasn't a big thing. Having said that, as a huge fan of Sting, I enjoyed it despite the fact that there's nothing in it I wasn't already familiar with.
Also, the ending to Sting/Triple H still pisses me off.

I watched it yesterday and really enjoyed it, though I agree more depth on his WCW run would have made it feel more complete. The Starrcade 97 finish being discussed so candidly and his TNA run -albeit briefly - being mentioned were two welcome surprises.
One thing that really struck me about the dvd is just how happy and content Sting is with life, his career and to have finally had a Wrestlemania match. I know this is a WWE dvd and he could hardly say anything else, but I really think he is genuine in how elated he seemed post the WM31 match with Triple H. He was not in the slightest upset - as a lot of us were/are - with the outcome of that match.
I also liked how they talked about the handshake post the Triple H match - another much maligned part of the match. According to both Triple H and Sting that was an "out of character" moment and not part of the story of the match - just two guys thanking each other and showing respect. Again, I am maybe purely taking it at face value, but that gave me closure on the whole thing and makes me enjoy the match much more now it has added context.

I refused to be pissed about seeing Hogan v Sting after an 18 month feud. I was not happyabout a crappy finish, but took it in stride cause Sting won. I was however very pissed when they stripped him of the title and screwed up the follow up. Sting won out the next month but then dropped it to Randy Savage to set up the expansion of the nwo worlfpack.
Bischoff's book stated Hogan was furious that Sting hadn't been in the gym or a tanning bed in months during the set up to the highest profile match of Sting's career. I get that. If I allowed you to destroy my entire faction every Monday for two yrs and I ran scarred from you to make you look like a main event and a huge threat, then you should show up prepared to run the play I set up and designed for you. That itsnt all Hogan ego. That is logically and understandably being upset that a fellow professional was not holding up their end. I get it.

Why would he need to be perfectly tanned? The would look stupid for his character.

The tanning bed is just about standard for 90% of the boys. I was paraphrasing Bischoff but the point was overall Hogan felt he was unprepared. As far as the need for tanning, I know what sting's character was but even undertaker was tanning after a few yrs. It's showbiz looks. If he came back looking ripped and tanned it would serve to complete the package of the fired up young avenger here to usurp Hogan and the NWO
