It makes Seths' run even worse, you should have the hope that a new face will win the title and freshen things up.
However given WWE's recent history that is replaced by the expectation the face will win the title and immediately drop the title to Sheamus straight after the match.
Or Sheamus cashes in on Rollins and takes his place as HHH's chosen one, the third incarnation of the same angle.

Forget that noise, I'm ready for Sheamus to be champion again. I can't hate on the guy, he always puts on a solid match.

the one time Reigns should've won something........ They booked themselves into a corner. Reigns should of won and Sheamus should of been still doing his real man schtick. Considering how him Barret says he wants to do tag team for a while and him and Sheamus go way back those two beating the hell out of people would be fun pairing.

Honestly, way I look at that kind of thing is most of the people on the roster these days are very good in the ring and can provide a great match given the chance. You need to entertain me in other ways to be worth my time and Sheamus doesn't.

I was hoping (and stupidly expecting) them to have him put the briefcase on the line against Neville a few weeks ago. He started talking about how Neville is a loser etc and he is Mr MITB so I was expecting Neville to challenge him but instead Sheamus beat him in seconds

I think what I'd do with it is have Sheamus cash in and become the Authority's chosen one, with Seth being kicked out and beaten down to write him out for awhile to freshen up some because God he is nauseating to see onscreen at this point, then somehow, like a battle royal or something, you get to Sheamus / Reigns set up at Survivor Series and make the entire build-up of it, "No, seriously, Reigns is about to absolutely crush this man." Then he does, just like utter squash, then basically have the Authority drop him after he inevitably loses his rematch and move into a very, very reduced presence until Rollins comes back and beats Triple H at Mania to finally, mercifully end that shitty stable once and for all.

I'm surprised that no-one seems to be pointing something out.
The very minute Sheamus won the MITB, I figured that the plan was this:
Daniel Bryan wins the Royal Rumble, or almost wins the Royal Rumble, and earns a title shot in the main event of Wrestlemania 32 breaking the all-time attendance record, against the champion Brock Lesnar. After one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches ever, Daniel Bryan conquers the beast, and is now the new champion. As the icing-on-the-cake moment, Sheamus comes out to ruin Daniel Bryan's moment for everyone, and cashes in the MITB, only for Daniel Bryan to duck a brogue kick and defeat him with a running knee in 15 seconds.

I hypothesized a similar scenario where Cena wins his record-breaking title in December, Bryan wins the rumble and talks about how if he doesn't walk out of Wrestlemania with the WHC he will retire. He beats Cena at Wrestlemania in a 25 minute classic, Cena shakes his hand and leaves him to celebrate as the new champion with confetti and the fans chanting YES YES YES etc. The copyright sign comes up to symbolise the end of the PPV as Bryan celebrates on the turnbuckle...
Then Sheamus comes out, cashes in MITB and brogues him into retirement in 18 seconds and the last image of Wrestlemania 2016 is Sheamus standing tall holding up the title, screaming 'ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?' over a brutalised and retired Daniel Bryan.
Next night at Raw ends early due to a fan riot when Big Show is announced as Sheamus' number one contender

You know what'll save ratings from an impending doom? Not Sheamus as World Champion.

I hope he exploits a loophole saying the contract let's him cash in on any WWE title and he chooses the women's title; just to be an ass.
