Anyone know what the bet is on Syracuse Women winning tonight? I think the bookie just takes your money and laughs if you bet on UCONN losing

Sure, Syracuse was likely never going to win this game, but those girls could have been beaten by the moment and cracked once UConn got way out. They fought like champions and should be proud of the best Syracuse Women's Basketball season of all time.

I'm sorry, but it's no fun watching UConn win all the time.

So Gino is a perfect 11 for 11 in National Championship games. The seniors on that team have four rings, another perfect season, something like 77 wins in a row...men's game or women's game, hell I don't care if it's rec league at the local Y, that is just dominance on a level we haven't seen in...ever.

Lot of smoke gathering about Georgia Tech hiring Josh Pastner.
If true, Josh Pastner is officially the man you hire when no one else wants the job
Also talk of Memphis hiring Penny Hardaway. Not sure how I feel about that.

Valpo's Bryce Drew left for Vanderbilt yesterday. Important hire coming up for Valpo's AD. Word is some players might transfer if the wrong guy is hired. Valparaiso assistant Matt Lottich will be named head coach, to keep the job "within the family". As far as "some players might transfer", that seems to be the norm. Valpo lost over 30 players in the past 10 years; mainly health reasons, some wanted to be closer to home, some bump up to a Power 5 Conference to get more eyes on them. (Quite a few of them left before even playing an actual game.) Alec Peters declared for the NBA Draft, but is not hiring an agent, leaving a transfer open to possibility.

Apparently Peters is pretty good. Didn't know about the transfer thing. Tbh I only started following Valpo this year. You're a northwest Indiana guy so you probably know more about Crusader basketball than I.

I've seen Bryce play since he went to Valparaiso HS (he's two weeks younger than me), so I've followed him rather closely.
Now, I couldn't tell you how many of those transfers were before they switched from the Mid-Con/Summit to Horizon League, but it could have went down, as the HL is a little more tight-knit than the Summit and has a bigger feel. (Valparaiso is kind of in the center of the Great Lakes-based Horizon, as opposed to taking long trips to Utah State and the Dakotas. Think the longest trip they take now is WI-Green Bay or U. Of Detroit.)

Georgia Tech is high as hell. I still think I'm dreaming Hd struggled in the AAC. In the ACC, yikes...

Memphis hired Tubby Smith. Pretty meh hire, but he's much better than Pastner.
My biggest worry is recruiting. But there's supposed to be some loaded local classes the next couple of years. So that should help.
