I'm hoping I get a little time in October since I really want to revisit some of these. Back in the 1990s I used to rent the crap out of these all the time. When DVD first became a format they were also some of the first movies I bought.
Part IV is still my favorite with Part VI being second.

A yearly revisit for me every October without fail. So much mindless fun to be had.

A yearly revisit for me every October without fail. So much mindless fun to be had. Do you do the whole series including the New Line stuff and the remakes? Or just stick with the original paramount 8? I actually thought that the New Line ones weren't as crap as some folks made them out to be. Plus, that scene in Jason goes to Hell where the doctor eats the heart makes me crack up everytime. It's just so needlessly long lol.

I love them all even the horrible like Jason X, plus Jason Takes Manhattan is such a guilty pleasure of mine When punches that boxer's head off, well I think that's probably the most hilarious scene in the franchise. As a whole though Jason Takes Manhattan had a lot of problems. Like how he just walks by so many people in Manhattan rather than killing. I remember as a teen I mentioned to a friend in the subway scene how much cooler it would've been if he was just indiscriminately hacking the passengers to death as he went toward the protagonist. Just a really small change that would've been true to the character and worked much better. Although that scene where he takes his mask off to scare away that gang is pretty awesome. Also, WAY too much time on the boat. And don't get me started on the teleporting!

I bought the complete collection on blu ray

Whenever I watch the series I end it at JGTH
I actually don't mind that movie, I actually respect it for at least trying to do something new with series (And new blood, the carrie aspect was interesting)

I like to do 1 on it's own, then 2,3,4, then 5,6.
In my opinion 4 really rises above the average slasher film both in terms of FX and character. I love Tommy Jarvis. Crispin Glover's dance was posted on here a few days ago and it reminded me how bad I felt when he got killed.
Part 6 is the tops in terms of brutality. There is a scene in it where a girl gets her head twisted off...and it's played for laughs. A few "holy shit dude" moments.

Been awhile since I have watched any of them. But for years I would marathon them every Friday the 13th,first few times it was the VHS. Then it was a mixture of the VHS and the laserdiscs. Now it would be the dvds. Really the only one of the series I don't enjoy is part 7.

Speaking of Manhattan... how the hell does the boat on camp crystal LAKE get to Manhattan Well, teleportation has already been established in-universe.
