If TNA can pull off a miracle, shed some of their toxic image and convince SOMEONE to give them a national TV deal in the US, it's a safe bet to think they'll probably get on an even lesser channel than Destination America. This got me curious about what channels those could be, so I found the above link. In the second list they have the channels ordered by coverage from most to least. I don't think it's complete as I know they're at least missing AXS TV, if not more channels.
I extracted from that a list of possible lesser channels, their viewership, and the percentage of American homes they are in. I have also included Destination America at the top for comparison. I took out the Discovery Channel related ones since Dixie already pissed in that pond. I have also taken out things like the NBA-TV, which obviously just airs NBA programming, the Spanish channels, the movie channels, and some other really specific specialty channels so we're left with...
DESTINATION AMERICA 57,238 49.2
TV ONE 56,953 48.9
OVATION NETWORK 54,048 46.4
RFD-TV 47,381 40.7
FOX SPORTS 2 (Formerly FUEL) 45,393 39.0
OUTDOOR CHANNEL 35,814 30.8
SPORTSMAN CHANNEL 34,087 29.3
MULTIMAX 21,381 18.4
MAXPRIME 20,926 18.0
BEIN SPORT 16,945 14.6
So it looks like VERY slim pickings even in a best case scenario. I'm not entirely sure what the hell Multimax or Maxprime are. Also, the Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel are geared toward more outdoor sports (as their names imply), but figured if they really wanted to they could stretch for TNA (though they have very little reason to).
Really, thinking about it the only possible options for TNA that could be fruitful at all/somewhat realistic would be RFD-TV and Fox Sports 2. I don't see TV ONE or Ovation touching them with a 10 foot pole (though these days the same is probably true of RFD-TV and FS2 as well).
On the plus side thinking about this so much has made me realize beIN Sport was a thing. With just 14.6% coverage it would be cool if some top indie promotion tried to strike up a deal with them. Perhaps this new channel would take a chance on some sort of wrestling channel. Not TNA though. I think it's about time to stick a fork in it, but then again folks have been saying that for years.
