I hate that title change on two levels. A) I don't like Ishii, and; B) way to cut the Strong/Fish feud off at the knees. I don't know about b. Fish can beat Ishii or Goto and for the title and we get "Well you never beat me Bobby" "Well you never beat me Roddy" time for Ladder War.

I don't really mind the title switch as I feel like this Fish/Roderick Strong feud was already a stick in the spokes for Strong. The angle is good but I think they jumped into this too fast, I wasn't ready to start rooting for Fish to win the title as I wanted a good babyface title reign for Roddy for a while first and since that bubble burst I think this is a good reset and makes the NJPW/ROH relationship feel more authentic.

How'd the ROH guys get over with the crowd? They were really into Lethal. Could've just been an anti-Okada crowd or a pro-Naito (his partner) one.

ROH Honor Rising Night Two January 20th, 2016 | Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan
This morning, ROH continued their Honor Rising event alongside NJPW. Again, it would feature a mixture of talent from both companies, similar to the Global Wars and War of the Worlds shows they run in the United States.
Jay White def. David Finlay Jr. in 7:58 An all-NJPW opener here as the Young Lions go at it again. I’ve seen this match or variations of it a ton of times. Both guys have shown great improvement nearly every single time out. Sometimes the matches are better than others and this one was pretty solid. Despite the generic attire and stuff that these guys are given, they do very well. Jay White and his terrible haircut survived a Boston crab before slapping one of his own on. He modified it by adding a knee to the back, giving it more of a Liontamer feel to win. Solid work from two solid performers. I hope to see them move up soon. **¾
Jushin Thunder Liger and Matt Sydal def. Delirious and Gedo in 7:21 After a dull match on night one, the booking duo of Delirious and Gedo teamed up to face a tandem that won on night one, Liger and Sydal. Delirious did his opening act, which the crowd liked. There is a fair amount of history between Delirious and Sydal. Delirious was even Sydal’s final ROH opponent before his WWE run. At one point, Delirious stole a woman’s purse from ringside and used it as a weapon. After some relatively fun back and forth between the duos, Sydal pinned Gedo with a Shooting Star Press. The match itself was only decent but they seemed to have fun. It worked well as a match that didn’t need to be taken seriously. **½
Dalton Castle w/ the Boys def. Frankie Kazarian in 11:07 Now it’s time for the all ROH match after the opener featured only NJPW guys. Kazarian had a disappointing match with KUSHIDA on night one, while Dalton Castle lost a fun tag in his debut. The fans seemed really into Castle’s act this time around. After the Boys fanned him in the corner, Kazarian tried to get the same treatment. Castle shouted “THOSE ARE MY BOYS” and Kazarian responded with a calm “well share” as a response. That was more entertaining than anything Kazarian did on night one. Castle went on a bit of a flurry in the end, nailing a rana to the outside, suicide dive and a finisher that I unfortunately am not sure what the name was. Okay match, made better by Castle’s antics, but may have gone a bit long for the work done. **½
Hirooki Goto, Katsuyori Shibata and reDRagon def. The Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson and Tama Tonga) in 10:21 Hey, it’s my favorite Bullet Club members! Tama Tonga, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. I’m not a Fale fan but he plays his role rather well. A friend made a good point recently that the way NJPW books Fale is how the WWE should book someone like Braun Stroman down the line. The BC theme still says “AJ Styles”. The last time Meiyu Tag and reDRagon joined forces, I marked and I did it here again. Two of my favorite teams in the world together. The BC attacked before the bell and continued to use dirty heel tactics throughout the match. The fans knew it was Anderson’s last night and they treated him like a face throughout. They teased more tension between Goto and Shibata since Goto is seemingly at a loss after coming up short in another title match. Shibata put down Gallows with the PK. This was mostly fast paced and featured some great interactions (especially between Goto and Anderson) as well as a hot crowd. Best thing so far on this show. ***½
After the match, it was time for Gallows and Anderson to say their goodbyes. Unlike Prince Devitt and AJ Styles, they weren’t jumped out of the Bullet Club. They shared a hug with Fale and Tonga, who then bowed to them before leaving. Gallows and Anderson bowed to each side of the crowd before embracing in tears.
IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion KUSHIDA and Moose def. BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito in 8:21 Moose carried KUSHIDA out on his shoulders like they were Fale and Devitt. This was a fun match. Los Ingobernables were their usual selves, with Naito being a complete dick and EVIL showing up at ringside to help his guys out. Moose continued to get more and more over with the crowd. He and KUSHIDA made for a surprisingly good big man/little man duo. KUSHIDA and Naito again had a great back and forth. If the rumors of KUSHIDA be2ing in the G1 are true, I want him in the same black as Naito, though I would prefer he focus on fixing the broken juniors division. Anyway, Moose cut BUSHI in half with a spear for the win. ***
Hiroshi Tanahashi, Michael Elgin and Roderick Strong def. IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, ROH World Television Champion Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI w/ Gedo in 15:47 For the most part, all of these guys have had good to great matches against each other (even Elgin vs. YOSHI was better than expected last year). Right from the start, Strong antagonized Ishii. You could tell a rematch is coming. Everyone got to do their thing and shine. Tanahashi, Elgin and Strong all flexed for the crowd after taking Chaos out. Ishii and Strong gave us a preview of the eventual rematch. Elgin did all of his sweet power spots. Seeing Okada and Tanahashi go at it again so soon was iffy, but they kept their interaction to a minimum. I heard some reports today that Elgin got a contract with NJPW and if it’s true, it makes sense since he’s so much better in Japan. He got the win for his guys by pinning YOSHI-HASHI with a series of powerbombs. Thanks to how good most people involved were, this was a really good outing. After the bell, we got more build for Ishii/Strong II as Strong took his belt and posed, leading Ishii to clothesline him. They had to be pulled apart by the teams several times. ***½
NEVER Openweight Championship: The Elite (IWGP Intercontinental Champion Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) w/ Cody Hall def. The Briscoes and Toru Yano (c) in 12:55 Omega showed up with a New Day shirt. Yes, these titles changed hands again. For the fourth time in less than two months. Gedo really is doing his best to make us forget about the Jr. Tag Title hot potato. There was a sweet spot during this where the Briscoes hip tossed Nick out onto his teammates, which was pretty cool. The Young Bucks continue to be my least favorite act in all of pro wrestling, but I’ll admit that Omega is grown on me. He still overacts a TON but his ring work has been better this year than throughout his mediocre juniors run. I loved that he went old school heel and used extra leverage on an abdominal stretch. Yano took most of the beating before laying out everyone with the turnbuckle pad. After taking out the Briscoes, they did a special version of More Bang for your Buck, including an Omega moonsault on Yano to win the belts. Fine match, probably the best of the title’s short history. They seem to be booking Omega strong so hopefully the belts won’t switch quickly again. ***
ROH World Championship: Jay Lethal (c) w/ Truth Martini def. Tomoaki Honma in 15:32 One thing I would like to point out first is that booking this match was wise. The crowd is always super into Honma, which helps since they aren’t used to Lethal, and Honma can take a loss without it impacting him at all. They worked a fine match that had the crowd into it. Lethal got more help from his new Los Ingobernables friends. I get that they wanted to solidify the partnership but if anyone in NJPW can eat a clean loss, it’s Honma. After he was put down with the Lethal Injection, Honma accepted a post-match handshake like a chump. It just led to him getting mist spit in his eyes, which he sold magnificently. He looked like an idiot for taking the handshake despite the unclean loss. Outside of that stuff, the match was solid but unspectacular. ***
Overall: 6/10. A very middle of the pack show. It had a lot in common with night one as it featured some lesser matches and moments while also having some good matches. It was missing the great match that night one had with Ishii and Strong but was still consistently solid.

The new set is nice. It's amazing what some elevated production values (or in the case of ROH, any at all) can do for a promotion.

Major happening today... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Tomohiro Ishii won the TV Title from Roderick Strong in the main event of today's joint ROH/NJPW Korakuen Hall show. Why does wrestling hate me so much?

So Roddy's balls have been completely cut off I guess.... Also, why has there been no new ROH episode? I mean, I'm happy to watch Rush/Kincaid every day but... I totally get that this is in kayfabe but man does that make Roddy, ROH in general and anyone who wrestles there look dog shit. Seems Ishii's matches aren't the only thing about him that sucks.

Kayfabe. He just beat a champ and he's a heel. Of course that's how he'd react. Wait for the rematch/title defenses

He's not building anything, he's straight up burying Strong, ROH, and the belt he just won. I understand it's in-character, but it's terribly done, and makes ROH look like garbage.

That's pretty low rent by Ishii. You'd never see any of the ROH guys say anything similar about a New Japan guy.

Just Ishii being a heel, running down the competition is nothing new at all in wrestling.

I was hoping Ishii would defend it in a singles match with either Fish or Strong, with Goto getting the odd man out. I just prefer singles matches and we already have a triple threat in the main event title match.
Oh yeah, if you haven't heard Tomohiro Ishii is defending the ROH Television Title in a triple threat with Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong. Ishii's original opponent Hirooki Goto will still have a match, but his opponent has not been announced.

In other words, he's been moved into a "Get the belt the f*** off the guy who just buried our belt ASAP" match.

Oh yeah, also...
The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) will now defend their newly-won Never Open Weight Six Man Tag Titles in their match with Kushida, ACH, and Matt Sydal. So far these titles have been very difficult to retain.

New stage is nice. Very much NJPW influenced which I like. Only complaint is they should have an incline leading to the "pose box" and not have them walk out, step up on it, pose and then step down.

This is the first time in a long time Delirious has done something that I majorly disagree with but putting the belt on Ishii was a f***ing dumb move. Not only did he put the belt on a guy who absolutely sucks, but he also managed to completely ruin a well built Fish/Strong feud and potentially leave Goto off the card, which would be a massive disappointment.
I just really don't get this move. And if it's just gonna ba a short run for the purposes of these couple of shows then what was the point? Ugh, no matter what happens this was an awful booking decision.
