Congrats on your find ToyfareMark - it is a wonderful feeling of satisfaction when you get a hold of something rare for well under it's real value; I collected the WWF Hasbro figures for far too long into my teens in the late 90s and still remember my excitement when an acquaintance at school was selling a load of his old figures for cheap, and one of them was the very rare Bret Hart figure with the purple heart on his chest that had been a mail-away exclusive in the WWF magazine years before My reaction upon seeing it was something like this: ... I'm such a geek

I'm such a geek It's been years since I last bought a WWE toy, but whenever I find a bunch of them for sale somewhere here in Tokyo, I look for one of the few I wanted back in my active collecting days that eluded me. If I ever find that STOMP Kane, I'll buy it for whatever the asking price is, just to make my teenage self happy. S.T.O.M.P. Kane. The only Kane figure from 1997 through 2003 that eluded me. Ebay's cheating!

Strangely, i remember seeing GAB 04 at Wal-Mart with the full-body shot, so this must have been made for only certain wal-marts. I still dont see how its "risque" (i've seen much "sexier" WWE DVD covers).

WWE has a limited edition Undertaker set coming out next month. How limited? Only 666 editions will be released in the US, and less than 2000 in the UK. It comes in a wooden coffin, and I expect to see it all over eBay, and Amazon martletplace when it comes out. I'm keeping mine lol.

I preordered a copy of the new Taker set, but I live in Canada and haven't heard if we have a limited number being released. Will my preorder still be in the coffin? That's really the only reason I'm buying the set because I have all of the streak matches, some in multiple forms.

I think you mean the one on the left, not right. Your current OP is suggesting the one showing her full-body is the rare Wal-Mart version. Wait so the one that is just her face was deemed too risque?

$5 ---> $35 is still a pretty damn good investment. I suppose. It honestly comes down to demand for me more than anything since I couldn't go and buy DVDs and sit on them unless I knew I could immediately unload it for a hefty profit. But that's just me.

Just because something isn't super expensive doesn't mean its not rare, 35 dollars is about the right price for a used copy, if it was still sealed it becomes a whole other ballgame. It's also the only copy for sale on ebay, while there are always plenty of copies of something like Wrestlemania 17 which obviously there is more of a demand for. Well, rarity is something that depends on what your definition is. As I just stated, unless I knew I could immediately turn around and make a good profit off it, I wouldn't consider the demand worth the investment. But that's just how I invest. I hope it climbs in price for ya.

No the full body shot was, I messed up my left, and right. I changed the original post to say the close up version was the rare one.

I mean I have over 550 WWE sets, and still buy every PPV that comes out despite having the network. Only now I just don't open them.

So, there's no difference in the DVD other than the cover art?

Random Kenzo Suzuki match is random and Mordecai's only other PPV match before his final match against Rey Mysterio. Sad sad Mordecai.

Strangely, i remember seeing GAB 04 at Wal-Mart with the full-body shot, so this must have been made for only certain wal-marts. I still dont see how its "risque" (i've seen much "sexier" WWE DVD covers). One example being Summerslam 2003 with a naked Sable being covered by parts of the logo. Anyway, I was unaware of this version, but I will say that I do own the DVD of this event and I actually remember sitting through it, mostly to see how bad of a show it was. It did not disappoint in that area. I did enjoy the JBL vs. Eddie Guerrero match, as well as Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero. I did not mind the Fatal-4-Way match at the start. That was mainly it. Other than that, the show sucked. I don't think it would be worth trying to track this down. Seeing Torrie in skimpy attire on the cover is actually worth it because it actually made the PPV more entertaining than it was. Don't get me started on that segment with her in the hot tub with some wrestlers, one of whom was Kidman, her then-husband.

What exactly is the rarest WWE DVD anyway? Some I suspect are
Judgement Day 2002 & Unforgiven 2002-WWE only sold these online. However back when they were doing tagged classics I did see a set that had Unforgiven 2002 and 2003 together, however I think that set was a K-Mart Exclusive
nWo Back in Black-This came out right before the company switched over to WWE and as a result was not around long.
Best of WWF 2001-This was a DVD of a special that aired on TNN in place of Raw on December 31, 2001. It had condensed matches and from what I read the DVD did as well. I don't even recall WWE promoting it but I did see one once in a used DVD store in town. I still regret not buying it.
Homecomming 2005-Back in 2006 WWE and Walmart teamed up to release a DVD version of the 2005 special. The catch was that it would only be availible for one week. I never did see it though in any Walmart I went to so I wonder if it even got made.

Best of the WWF 2001, Raw Homecoming, and the FYE exclusive collectors edition of the Trish Stratus DVD are more than likely the top 3. If you count promo discs, then WWE Live & Unscripted is right up there with them, its probably the one DVD I still need to get.

Isn't the 2 disc version of The Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior really rare?

Isn't the 2 disc version of The Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior really rare? There are 2 sealed copies on Ebay right now, 1 for 50 bucks, and the other for 70. Since they are still sealed the 50 dollar one is a bargain. But yeah its rare mostly because it was a FYE exclusive, and the store exclusives are always the most sought after. But I wouldn't pay more than 25 for a used copy.

Just opened up the ol' WWE DVD cabinet to look, and I have the close-up cover too. Got it at a Crossroads Music store probably 7 years ago.
Fun.
