In the 90s, people were trading MP3s like "Stuck in the Middle With You" by Bob Dylan and "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bob Marley. In the 2000s people were posting videos to YouTube with pictures of Green Day and the title 'Blink 182 - "I'm Not Sick, But I'm Not Well"' Today we have an officially released major label mainstream song that gets one of the most iconic film scenes of all time completely wrong. Hey, maybe I'm not the only guy who's never seen Pulp Fiction then. Actually never seen a Tarantino movie at all. Did pay to see Grindhouse but walked out on Planet Terror. But how many Tarantino films have you written songs about?

Also they have obviously seen it... or at least the scene otherwise they wouldn't know about the dance scene to even make the incorrect connection.

But how many Tarantino films have you written songs about? Well, I was just joking anyway, but now I'm kind of tempted to try writing a rock opera about From Dusk Til Dawn. Though actually I probably know too much about that one, I at least know the gist of the plot, the gimmick, the name of the bar, all that. Reservoir Dogs might be a better example, outside of the characters being named after colors I know f***-all about that movie.

While they probably have seen it, that dance scene might be the most parodied scene of the 90s, you don't need to have seen it to get the reference.

I'd argue that bullet time scenes from The Matrix is the most parodied scene of a movie that came out in the 90's. Even though the parodies all happened in the early 2000's.

I would say Forest Gump is up there with the recreation shot of "revealing a man sitting on a bench with a box of chocolates behind the bus" or the "run forest run scenes". Can't handle the truth, the cable drop from Mission Impossible, the song "Dude looks like a Lady" whenever you see cross dressing.
