Hello everyone, with the game's launch being only a couple days away from us now, I feel it is time to start a brand new thread for everyone to share their first impressions, screenshots, etc once the game launches and we can finally experience the latest instalment in one of the most popular and successful video game franchises of all times. Soon we will able to step into post-apocalyptic Boston but for now... CHOO CHOOOOOO!!

Comes out a month late in Japan. I'll be ordering the US version because I can't wait to play it, but will still get it a couple weeks late. Hopefully by then there are some consensus opinions on perks and stuff for advice. So hype!

Even though New Vegas was super buggy for me and a very long game save was corrupted, I'm a super ready for Fallout 4. I'm taking off 7 days from work for this!

Man, I think it looks awful, honestly. I'm a huge Fallout fan, New Vegas is probably my favorite game of all time, but I cannot get excited for any of the changes they're making. I don't like the voiced protagonist or the Mass Effect dialogue choices and I think the graphics/art direction are hideous as well. Bethesda can't write for shit yet they're putting their focus on that and I just don't get it. I play Fallout to roleplay and they're taking me right out of it, plus how it seems they've really dumbed down building your character. It's seriously alienating for me. Hopefully it's fine, as my friend got it for me for my birthday so I'm going to have to play it anyways. I just have a bad feeling about it.

I signed up for the Gamers Club at Best Buy and preordered the 90 dollar version which is the game, the season pass, and a pair of socks! It was 20 percent off, plus I got a 10 dollars reward certificate or whatever they call it. If you are in the market for a new graphics card, they are selling an EVGA GTX 970 with a Vault Boy backplate.

Pre ordered... I'm hoping they don't deviate too much from the original formula

Jurassic Park!
Just realised it getting released on the day I get paid. I just hope the shops here have it in stock... Taiwan is notoriously wank when it comes to new releases.
You can either get them a few days early (shops were selling MGS5 before the official release date) or weeks late (Shadow of Mordor only appeared in the shops a month after the official release).

I remain open minded about it, but I'm really turned off by a lot of the changes. I think one of the first popular things modders will do is make it a lot more roleplay friendly than it seems like it will be.

At least I'll be able to use mods on the Xbox version if they do fix that.

I'm honestly not sure where you guys are getting the idea that this game won't have much roleplay from. It seems especially weird considering everything we've shown so far tends to hint towards MORE roleplay and character customization opportunities, what with being able to start your own settlements and customize weapons and armour.

I'm slated for a PS4 and Fallout for Christmas.
Come to think, it was Fallout 3 that broke and made my get a PS3.
Stupid, sexy Fallout.

Personally, I couldn't care less about building a house or customizing weapons and armor. It's nice to have on the side, but not a huge draw for me. Also, that's customization, not roleplaying. Playing as a voiced generic guy who sounds nothing like me and already has a wife and a kid, eh...that's inherently limiting. I don't see how you couldn't at least see where people are coming from on that, as I think it's glaringly obvious. New Vegas gave me a blank slate with the courier and I was up and at 'em in like five minutes. That's all I wanted. I could be an old ass man, I could be a young gun, or anything in between, and my backstory was completely up to me.

I really looking forward to any crazy side missions I may come across while exploring the wasteland. Hopefully there is a Cheers themed cult or something. 'Where Everybody Knows Your Name' mission added

Fallout 3 also gave the player character a rather elaborate backstory and that didn't hinder roleplaying. Hell, you could argue the same for Fallout 1 and especially 2.

THAT'S WHAT WE WILL ALL BE PLAYING!!!!!!!!!

Probably not gonna be getting this until Christmas, pretty hyped for it though. Still not pleased the MC's voice though. Half the fun of Bethesda games is the immersion, could take away from it.
