Did they literally run out of men? I can't think of anyone on the roster that's not in the tournament besides Tyrus and Jeff Hardy.

Did they literally run out of men? I can't think of anyone on the roster that's not in the tournament besides Tyrus and Jeff Hardy. Austin Aries, and Crimson I think aren't even under TNA contract. Aiden O'Shea may be in the same situation |

Well, with Tyrus already winning a future title shot at Bound for Glory, no need to put him in the tournament. And as for Jeff Hardy, well, obviously out for a while so it was expected not to see him in the tournament. As for the Knockouts, it's obvious from the start that Gail Kim & Awesome Kong would advance to the next stage. And it's pretty obvious too that they won't make it past the next round to. They could've included some alumni from the past instead but I guess they wanted to keep some Knockouts on TV given the circumstances. |

I think not only should TNA do away with the Knockouts in the tournament but they should do away with the Knockouts in general.
They never really want to introduce anyone new and the entire division is all about either Gail Kim or Velvet Sky. Boring.

Part of it is that they needed 32 people in the tournament, but ran out of men.
Unfortunately, don't expect any of the women to do anything in the actual round of 16 because TNA is TNA.

Surely TNA isn't in such financial trouble that they had to use Knockouts because they didn't have enough male wrestlers and couldn't afford to bring in more.
Throw some money at Gunner, Sam Shaw and Sonjay Dutt to make up the numbers without the Knockouts or hell, don't even do the confusing tournament in the first place.

Guessing this is because this was mean't to be a non-linear Pay-Per-View, but needed to be re-purposed because they booked no venue because they didn't know until 2 weeks into September if they'd have TV into October.

It's the result of Billy Corgan wanting be progressive by having women wrestling men in TNA. The problem is that the Knockouts involved are either not talented enough to pull that off or past their prime. Mia Yim got the experience but got passed over. Kong is big enough to be considered a threat but her best days are in the rear view.
