I guess that the Cleveland LeBarons are our next best hope to knock off the Warriors, and even that is suspect at best

I hope so, because I like seeing sports history being made.

I still feel they are "blowing their load" too early in the season. It's just "not natural" to be that hot for a whole season. If they pull it off though, I'll bow down to the new Basketball Gods. It would be a shame to see a poorly timed injury or two screw it up, but that's part of the game too.

I don't think their blowing their load. I think they're trying to get homecourt. The fact that the Spurs are chasing them means they won't relax. San Antonio is, in a way, pushing them to stay on this pace.
It's like the 1967 76ers who were gunning for 68 wins because the Celtics were on their trail.
Remember, they are only 4 games back. They want to make sure a pivotal game 5/7 in a hypothetical Spurs playoff series is in Oracle.
This is different from last year when nobody really challenged them for the #1 seed (Houston/Clippers/Spurs- next best West teams record-wise were more 10 games back!)

I'd be more surprised if it didn't happen at this rate, honestly.

Considering how close the Spurs are to them, they might need to get 73 just to hang on to the one seed in the West

Don't see them beating the Spurs at home this late in the season so I'm thinking they'll only tie the record. Which is still pretty damn incredible.
