I'm not particularly a rugby fan by any means but this is shocking. The Pele of rugby. One of my first video games was Jonah Lomu rugby for the PS1. The fact he died at 40 now but had a video game dedicated to him in like 1998 when he would have been about 23 just shows how much he ruled his sport.

RIP
I only know him from the movie Invictus and the 30 for 30 about the South Africa World Cup team and how feared he was by them.

Gutted to hear that. I remember him bursting on the scene at the 1995 World Cup and carving through England like a hot knife through butter. His try where he literally ran over Mike Catt is an image that's burned into the history of sport. He was so tough, he wasn't going to let something little like a kidney disorder get in the way of his rugby and he carried on right where he left off at the 1999 World Cup. As a fan of the England rugby team, I think he was a big part of that team going on to win the World Cup in 03. They were so humiliated by him, that it inspired them to step up to avoid a repeat of the past. Lomu was a true giant of his game and a legend of not just Rugby Union but world sport too. RIP.

Even though that game came out in 1997/98 it's still recognised as the best rugby game ever. Loved that game. What a player. Will be sadly missed. RIP Jonah.

Shocked he was only 40, I have no interest in rugby, but one of my first sporting memories was him in the 1995 World Cup as an unstoppable beast, just single handedly crushing teams.

R.I.P
Only seems like yesterday where he made his debut and tore apart the English like they were nothing at the 95 world cup. Quite sad as he seemed to be on the rebound in past few years as he was doing promotional work for All Blacks during the world cup only a few weeks ago.
