Well this is something TNA with all that's happened isn't above doing. -Wrestlezone.com (via PWInsider.com) reports that Ring of Honor’s departure from Destination America for Sinclair Broadcasting’s COMET network bothered several people in TNA. There was backstage concern in the company when rumors of ROH’s departure started because there were those in TNA who thought that it would send the message that Destination America is dropping wrestling. There were also those in TNA who thought ROH would be going somewhere other than COMET, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. There are some in TNA who believe that ROH was brought in by DA to prevent TNA from getting certain viewership goals, which would secure a multi-year deal with the network. When TNA first signed, they had to hit these goals in a certain amount of time for their 2-3 year automatic renewal to happen. As TNA got closer to hitting the goal, that’s when the stories of Impact’s cancellation started and DA decided to bring in ROH. It’s believed by some in the company that the rumors made viewers think TNA was a “lame-duck product” and ROH being on the network took away from their viewership and stopped them from reaching their goals. ROH leaving DA seems to confirm that DA wants to get rid of wrestling, but this doesn’t mean that TNA will be leaving the network any sooner. They are currently expected to be gone in February 2016. 411mania.com/wrestling/does-tna-believe-that-destination-america-brought-roh-in-to-undermine-them/

Blaming ROH for TNA getting canned is bullshit, but it's kinda hard to believe that it was just coincidence for DA to bring a rival promotion in at the same time that stories are breaking of TNA getting cancelled.

The only thing that would surprise me would be TNA actually blaming TNA for poor ratings and cancellation.

I usually tend to take dirt-sheet reports with a grain of salt, but this is a pretty TNA thing to do, so I buy it.

I blame ROH for Dixie accidentally sending an email complaining about Destination America to an executive at Discovery Communications. Specifically, I blame Moose.

Admittedly I don't know how TV contracts work but would it even matter if TNA hit those numbers and got the auto-renewal? Surely DA(or any network really)would still be able to cancel a show at any given time.

TNA is kind of like those middle aged people who are unemployed and haven't worked in ten years. You ask them why they don't own a home or why their children were taken off of them and it's usually the fault of someone else.
"I don't work because of the economy/my kids/nobody wants to hire me/the world doesn't make it easy to get an education/aliens/ghosts/yeti"
TNA is very much the same. They can never say "Our ratings went down because our product is taped 3 months in advance and is confusing at the best of times. That's our mistake and we're going to fix it". No, just like the alcoholic who's been drinking for 30 years it's always someone else's fault.
TNA has nobody to blame except themselves for their current state.

Seems really weird they would get a rival wrestling program, and put it on the same day.
If it wasn't sabotage seems like really bad planning..

They were looking for a lower cost alternative that could draw the same numbers according to the original audio report on PWInsider where this whole thing started, no they were not. the conspiracy theory is that ROH was a pawn that got used by Destination America, and brought in on a short term deal specifically to dilute the audience and prevent TNA from reaching the X number of viewers the needed for their deal to automatically be renewed

February? Man, TNA's death sentence just keeps getting longer and longer somehow.
First we thought they were cancelled in March. Then we had to wait until september. Then it was by the end of hte year. Now the second month of the year.

Thing is, what effect of any sort has ROH had on TNA's ratings? I can't think of any. There's been no discernible difference between what TNA was drawing before ROH joined the network and what they currently do. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me however.

Yeah TNA it all ROH fault that you put on a horrible product for so long that nobody wants to come your shows and they also held a gun to your head to send an e-mail insulting the network. The same mistake you did with Spike TV, I guess that ROH fault as well. Fact is nothing changed with TNA ratings before and with ROH. They been in the same area going up and down a little. At the end of the day the only person to blame is yourself Dixie because YOU can't run a business.

It's so easy to lure the crazies.
It doesn't say that TNA is blaming RHO per se, it says that bringing ROH to DA and the Meltzer "TNA in cancelled" thing made TNA look like a lame-duck product that would be canned in favor of ROH.
I can't disagree with that. Hell everybody was laughing at TNA the moment DA hired ROH and TNA knew nothing about it.
