The World lost IMO the greatest frontman ever and left a hole in music that has never been repaired. RIP Freddie Mercury.

One of my favorite singers ever. The dude could do every genre under the sun, even disco and early hip-hop influenced stuff (Another One Bites The Dust, Hot Space basically).

Anyone who knows me knows Queen is my favorite musical act of all time, and Freddie is my favorite vocalist/frontman of all time; he had it all.
I can post so, so much more.
RIP Freddie

RIP Fredie Mercury. I agree 100% about him being one of the greatest frontmen in rock history.
Also, RIP to KISS drummer Eric Carr, who also passed away 24 years ago today.

Yeah, RIP to both of them. Carr seemed to be a really nice guy, and one of the few, if not the only, member to join the KISS lineup and do his own thing. Freddie was fantastic, and definitely a larger than life performer.

As far as I'm concerned, he was the greatest performer of all time.
Also, he once smuggled Princess Diana into a gay club by dressing her up as a man. You know you've never made it as a true rock god until you've gotten the most famous (and certainly the most beloved) member of the British Royal Family to cross-dress to go to a party.

It's just insane to think that the guy was still churning out top-shelf vocals as he was wasting away from AIDS (if the story about him downing a shot of vodka and one-taking "The Show Must Go On" is true... and I'm not about to start questioning the word of Brian May).
Personally, I think Innuendo (the last album released before his death) is probably the best album of the whole Queen discography.

Personally, I think Innuendo (the last album released before his death) is probably the best album of the whole Queen discography. I suppose it's possible. I know Klaus Nomi kept performing as he was very much dying from AIDS, himself, though I do think he slowed down some. Two fantastic talents.

This is a great late song of theirs that really shows off Freddie's vocal range:

I have become a major Queen fan in the past couple of years. Freddie made that group. Even though I have nothing against Brian and Roger still touring as Queen, it's nothing without the presence and showmanship Freddie brought. Recently, this has become one of my favorite songs to listen to. Like "Mother Love", "Winter's Tale" is one of Freddie's last songs to record. What I find amazing about this piece is that he was near death and he still brought out these amazing vocals from his weak body.
Another one of my favorites not posted is one of his solo songs that was given a "Queen" treatment. I believe "Made in Heaven" is one of the most underrated songs in their catalog, as well as the album it is titled after:
Freddie's most incredible attribute was the strength to keep doing music despite the limited amount of time he knew he had. I think someone close to him summed it up best, "Without music, he wouldn't have lasted that long."
RIP Freddie.
