Matt Hasselbeck is too old to slide. The Colts need Luck back to have any hope at winning a playoff game. Andrew Luck is 1-5 as the starter this season
I wouldn't really say that...

Matt Hasselbeck is not Cam Newton.
Someone have him write that 50 times on a clipboard while the Colts just run direct snap runs by Frank Gore.

Matt Hasselbeck is too old to slide. But can he Cha Cha real smooth?? "Hi, I'm Matt Hasselbeck for Metamucil. It's as close to smooth moving as I get anymore."

Pittsburgh reminding the Colts tonight that they are not a good team
And with the most likely loss they receive, they will still be in the same position of "Oh god anyone can still win this shitty division"

Friendly Reminder, the Colts in fact do suck... as does the entire AFC South

Antonio Brown no-sold the goalpost. Ugh, the Hasselbeck buzz is over. Reality's finally set in. And even I have to ask why we should get a home playoff game.

So tomorrow we get a classic NFL rivalry game (yay) between the first place team and last place team (okay, could work) who are both under .500 (dammit) and neither team is actually out of the playoff race (*shakes head in disgust*).

It's not very often that a 35-14 loss can feel better than a 35-28 loss, but today was an example of that. I had thrown in the towel, accepting defeat midway through the fourth quarter and the Patriots pulled a bunch of plays out of their rear ends and lo and behold they had the ball and a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. It's like the five stages of grief twice in 30 minutes. As I said last week, as much as these losses suck, at the end of the day the focus is on getting to January as healthy as possible. If it means sitting Rob Gronkowski for an extra week or two and losing out on home-field advantage, then so be it. Whether they're playing in Foxboro, Cincinnati, or Denver, a fully-healthy Patriots team is still the best team in the AFC. I'd rather see them have to go on the road in the Conference Championship weekend with a complete offense than playing at 75 percent or worse at home. As battered as the offensive line is, I think the coaching staff needs to consider running the ball a lot more, or even running a max protect. Houston and Miami are probably each going to abuse the pass rush as much as they can. New York might do the same. I honestly have no idea as far as Tennessee goes, because I hardly ever see them play, but there's no point in having Brady search fruitlessly for open receivers when he doesn't even have an offensive line to protect him. Gronk and Edelman being healthy won't do New England much good if Brady's out with an injury, so they should focus on keeping him safe and helping him recuperate from the weekly wear-and-tear by shoring up the pass blocking or minimizing the opportunities to blitz.

At least I can say my division isn't the worst in the NFL anymore.

Honestly can't see any other team besides these three. Minnesota got just ripped to shreds at home by Seattle, Green Bay is not good at all right now, the NFC East winner is a joke and that's pretty much it.

My guess would be that if Carolina loses than Arizona will go but I still think the Packers could pull it together.

Yeah Arizona, Seattle and GB in that order of likelihood. I still like Arizona as the best in the NFC even with the records as they are, then Seattle and GB would be rematches of one score games in the playoffs which are never easy.

I don't think the offensive line is necessarily bad, they've just been exposed because none of the receivers can get any separation or get open. Tom Brady has to hold onto the ball for three or more seconds because he can't find an open target because the receivers and tight ends on the field just aren't good enough at finding space. I'd be hard-pressed to find an offensive line in the NFL that can protect the quarterback for three or four seconds while he stands in the pocket waiting to find a receiver who isn't blanketed by a defender. That's where they really miss Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. Gronkowski could command double- or triple-coverage, leaving a lot of open field around him for the other receivers, whereas Edelman was just so dynamic at running his routes and stopping on a dime that Brady could find him in two seconds or less.
