Suzukigun's dominant hold on NOAH has been shattered, as Taiji Ishimori defeated Taichi to capture The GHC Junior Title and Naomichi Marufuji bested Minoru Suzuki to regain The GHC Heavyweight Title today. In compensation, they added Takashi Sugiura to their ranks. Can they come back to New Japan so we can have Big Boss Sugi against Nakamura and Goto and Ishii and Honma and all that good stuff?

Is there some kind of guide to get New Japan world for American users? Apologies if I missed a big tutorial post. I assume this still works.

The next big show NOAH has will probably be the finale of the angle, after that they'll return to New Japan.

I still don't know who I want to win the Goto/Naito match. Both have been my dudes for so long that it's like picking a favorite kid. If I was being utilitarian I'd say Naito because at least he's got a legit shot at becoming a main eventer now but Goto cleaned Okada's clock at the G1 and nothing even came of that. I thought he'd at least get a cursory title shot for him to choke at but he was spared even that indignity.
It just sucks knowing he's hit his ceiling even though he should be a lot more than he is. I mean, Shibata's great but I don't see him as a top guy. I've never wanted that. IC, sure, but never a permanent main event fixture. Goto, though, that dude epitomizes fighting spirit to me. I know everyone rags on him for choking, even I razz him a bit for it, but the fact that he's still solidly over, still puts on great matches, and so clearly still cares, despite all of that, just makes me root for him more. It makes me want to believe some day he'll have his due. Regardless, I think we're going to be in for an awesome show at WK10.

My main desires for WKX is to see Great Bash Heel walk out as IWGP Tag Champions and AJ beating Nakamura and winning The Intercontinental Title. That's what I want to see happen.

With Sugi defecting to SuzukiGun and Killer Elite Squad holding the tag titles, they got enough juice to keep it going for another 6 months or more. Plus they got the other story of will Marafuchi accept Go back into the NOAH fold. Besides SuzukiGun are needed more in NOAH than NJPW.

IIRC Roddy wants to work for NJPW, and the ROH/NJPW joint shows were tryouts for him? Has there been any news since then?
With Styles winding down and looking at retirement at age 40, this is the perfect fit to be next top gaijin.

On one hand, Naito needs a Tokyo Dome win and he should not be losing to a guy like Goto. On the other, if the winner is to face Okada at New Beginning... then Goto needs to win so he can be beaten by Okada. Don't want Naito to face Okada this early only to be fed to him. Naito is going places and putting him against Okada so soon will hurt him.
Goto is like the Ziggler of New Japan and there is no real potential in him anymore. What else can they do with him that they haven't already done? Goto had his upper midcard run last year and did nothing with it tbh.
Hoping that 2016 will be Naito & Shibata's turn to run the upper mid.

I've been having a blast with New Japan World.
I want to watch everything in order.
The oldest match you get to watch is a great 50 minute vintage-style match between the teams of Antonio Inoki & Seiji Sakaguchi and Lou Thesz & Karl Gotch from 1973. First comment: Wow, I swear New Japan had better production in 1973 than the NWA had 15-20 years later.
Second comment, I said VINTAGE-STYLE and I mean VINTAGE-STYLE. Not exciting by modern standards of constant motion but very astute work here. The kind of match where a backdrop is a high spot, armbars are a long torture and every takedown or change of position is fought for with every ounce of strenght. Gotch is in his late 40's and Thesz in his late 50's. I'm thinking this might be their highest profile match in color.

The closer we get, the more I think the show will end with Naito beating the hell out of Okada and standing tall.
Man we're only a week away! The hype is getting serious.

Ticket sales for The Dome appear to be good as apparently over 30 thousand tickets have been sold.

Does NJPW World still bill at the beginning of the month? I want to watch what I haven't yet to get hyped for WK, but don't want to pay 999Y for 2 days.

Judging by the shirt New Japan is releasing, Sydal and Ricochet are going to be known as Aerial Dogfight.

Kamaitachi will be having his final match in Mexico tomorrow before returning to Japan, as usual with excursion students before him, losing his hair.

It's a shame Goto gets so overlooked because the guy is always consistently great and is obviously passionate about what he does but they've just never pulled the trigger on him. He came in at a bad time with guys like Nakamura and Tanahashi also coming in but he still should be at least a one time Heavyweight Champ by now.
