HUGE ANGLE at New Year's Dash {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Kenny Omega & AJ Styles vs Nakamura & YOSHI-HASHI
Omega pins Nakamura. Then turns on AJ. Bullet Club comes to AJ's defence. Bucks & Omega then triple superkicked AJ. Gallows & Anderson later turned on AJ
Omega then cuts a promo about how he was overlooked when AJ was the leader/boss of BC. Omega goes after Nakamura and IC title and AJ is fired.
All left with AJ laying, Omega and bucks then did Styles Clash/Superkick combo and left
Young lions helped AJ to his feet, crowd LOUDLY chanting for AJ, AJ then does a 4 corner Japanese salute crowd loudly chanting his name. It was a surreal moment and definitely did look like a swansong for Styles

I'd say that's about all the proof we need of AJ leaving.

Random fact of the day: Togi Makabe has his own TV show in Japan called "Sweets Makabe No Umaissu!" where he travels around Japan sampling various cakes and desserts from different restaurants and gives his thoughts on the food.

"I have heard people say that if I stay in Japan that I will be a big fish in a small pond, but I do not agree. If people think Japan is a small pond, then I will rebuild the pond with my own hands and make it as large as the Pacific Ocean.”- Kazuchika Okada
Its time.

It is not as bad as post Inoki MMA, but they got to rebuild from the ground up again. They can stick with being either King of Sports or WWE Nippon. Can't keep doing both.

Kamaitachi is so in love with Mexico that he wants to stay there for good. He just did an interview saying he wants to beat Dragon Lee and Maximo more than coming back to New Japan.

Would love to see NJPW work with LU that would be a hell of an alliance and real interesting clash of well everything and also because I am still hoping for kenny omega to eventually make his way to the temple , but I know that wont be happening because of the whole they have a partenership with CMLL etc.
Nice to dream though.

It's about time Chris Hero got some big time shine. Also the American Wolves got a call from Japan. twitter.com/RichardsWesley/status/684382986238869504Kenny Omega of all people liked the tweet.

Also the American Wolves got a call from Japan. Kenny Omega of all people liked the tweet. I'd be stoked to see Chris Hero in the G1 if they felt like making that happen. I said it earlier but this is going to be a huge year for New Japan and I'm interested to see where they take it. They absolutely grew complacent and refused to let some new stars be made which is coming back to bite them now, but I don't think it's anywhere near dire for them yet. Goto is waiting in the wings and he might FINALLY get his f***ing chance which is so gratifying as a diehard faithful fan of his, Naito is only a matter of time, Shibata is holding singles gold, Kenny is finally moving up to tangle with the big boys, and if all goes well for Ibushi he's certainly going to be a star for them. It was a much-needed shakeup for them on the creative side, even if I am a little bummed and hesitant about the WWE-bound people as a fan. Regardless, we're bound for some interesting times ahead for NJPW. I'm curious to see where it goes and who sticks with it. Interesting doesn't always mean good. Still, just remember, at least it's not Gracies. Also, just as an aside, I've been talking to one of my friends in Japan who knows I like wrestling but doesn't know anything about it herself, and the only wrestlers she knows are Kensuke Sasaki, Akira Hokuto, and Keiji Mutoh. Not even Makabe, who even Tanahashi admits is the most well-known guy on their roster right now. That was really interesting to me.

I don't know what it is, but the Japanese love Cheeseburger. He's original, colorful & simple to understand. He'll have a run as a comedy act for sure, could even have some air time as a tarento on TV for a cup of tea. As long as he realizes it won't last; and it won't, just ask the hundreds of fad-y tarentos that came and went, Bob Sapp amongst them, then he'll have a good time and make some money. Colorful black guys sell in Japan, for whatever reason, maybe it's the exotic factor, Japan is very heterogenous.

Between Rock giving him a truck and teaming with his son, it's been a great last few weeks for Haku.
