Just wondering if anyone on here checked it out.
In my opinion it is a very good set. Match selection is pretty good and not a bad match in the whole bunch. The "documentary" part wasn't really a documentary like on other releases but more like an Owen Hart highlight reel. Had totally forgot that Owen was in WCW.
I will say that I still feel Owen doesn't get nearly enough credit for as talented as he was. I also get the feeling that he was way ahead of his time and he would have worked extremely well with guys like Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn.

I got the blu ray first day. Agreed on it being long overdue. I haven't seen it all yet but there are some awesome Owen stories on there. Most I haven't heard either

This is out? I had no idea. So.....they didn't really do a documentary? If it's not one like past DVD sets then I get why Bret was so disappointed in it.

It is but it isn't sort of thing. Really awesome Owen stories and interviews with wrestlers. The "documentary/interview" part is really good though and you can tell that Owen was very liked by the other wrestlers and was a great guy outside of that life. Definitely a purchase if you are a fan or Owen or someone who hasn't been exposed to his work.

Felt really off not having Jeff Jarrett on this though. Although I guess Mark Henry filled in for him more or less as the guy who was good friends of his during that era

The documentary part is awkward. Lots of jumping around between people telling the same story. But it does tell a good story of how he started and how he got started in WWF. Lots of rib stories which was funny. The ending was sad with Nattie talking about In Your House Canadian Stampede being the last time the entire family was together and how much that event meant to their family. Then the 'death' part was sad too. Hearing his sisters and brothers talk about how they reacted brought tears to my eyes. Very sad. But It's a really good dvd.

Will buy this as soon as I spot it at Walmart. Man, I miss Owen. Glad to hear they actually DID include the rib stories. I imagine there has to be more of them, but I'm sure some of the ones on there are the best.

Loved Foley talking about how Owen would have purposely horrible matches at house shows and it was really cool to actually get to see a few clips of him doing that. Feel really bad for the family, you can tell that everything they've been through has taken a toll on them.

I can't imagine that going well with Martha.

Match selection is awesome. Documentary is good for what it is, but it's too brief and is lacking due to Martha's "don't show family photos of Owen, me or our kids" rule that had to have been in place. I think the closest we got was showing Owen's grave. Bret alluded to this, but at least he was wrong about Stampede - it has an entire chapter dedicated to it. WWE dropped the ball by including approximately 2 seconds worth of footage to The Nation and the Owen/Jarrett duo. The Nation is just a blip mention of Foley talking about Owen not quite having the same spark after the Hart Foundation ended. Not sure why they didn't go further with this when there is nothing else on the first disc but the doc - space is not an issue. At least, that's how it is on the DVD. Speaking of which, I'm glad I got the DVD over the BR due to the awesome gold foil and holographic design style they used throughout. The gray & pink images are reflective in person. Here's a pic I took: Also note the cool Rocket-to-King of Harts-to-Black Hart disc imagery. As for the other positives, there's a brief semi-kayfabe interview with Owen he shot in '96 via a camcorder. I loved seeing that kind of stuff and the few house show antics that were peppered throughout. I'm very glad they spent a good deal of time talking about the Canadian Stampede PPV. I never saw Tyson Kidd or Nattie before this, so it was really awesome to hear them talk about that night and what it meant to the Hart family. It seems like all the major passings and Bret going to WCW really did forever alter the closeness they had. Canadian Stampede was my first PPV, and I honestly think that had to do with why I fell in love with wrestling way back when. Such a good show. I was happy to see King, Mark Henry (Owen apparently loved his writing), Triple H, Jericho, Edge, Christian, Bret, and several Hart family members interviewed. Lots of the right people were chosen. And I just have to say, Diana looks stunning even to this very day. I was shocked to see how little she had changed over the years. I feel like I knew him. Always felt that way after his passing hit me like a sack of bricks. Rewatching this doc made me revisit a lot of old feelings. I think my takeaway from Owen Hart, aside from how gifted and fun he was to watch in the ring, was that he knew not to take himself too seriously, but at the same time, he knew what really mattered and when to get serious. He avoided all the pitfalls that went hand-in-hand with wrestling at the time...the drugs, the women, the politics...and still, despite doing the right thing, he lost his life. It's so tragic. But it's so damn inspiring.

Feel really bad for the family, you can tell that everything they've been through has taken a toll on them. Owen's family are on it? I mean past his death? I can't imagine that going well with Martha. The surviving Hart family members all give interviews about Owen and is a nice touch to the DVD. To me Nattie came across exceptionally well and giving her perspective on things really adds to the DVD. From watching it I get the feeling that the family may never heal their wounds with Owen's wife and that the family has never been the same since then. The part that really choked me up was them talking about the Canadian Stampede PPV. They touched on how after the show the entire family got into the ring and highlighted a young Nattie (wearing the white dress on the left in the picture) and Tyson Kidd in the ring. While showing the footage of the family in the ring they interviewed and emotional Nattie who mentioned that nothing was the same after that night and that was the last time they would all be together. Really heartbreaking.

I got the Blu Ray for Christmas. I just got done watching the documentary. Man, I felt for Natalya when she started talking about Owen's death. It was really touching. I also must add that I watched "The Life and Death of Owen Hart" about a week and a half ago, which also had a good story.

But it's so damn inspiring. I agree that the DVD packaging always looks better, but you guys gotta start checking out the bluray versions of all the documentaries. Pretty much all of them have another hour or more of bluray exclusive footage. On the Owen bluray there are more rib stories and EVERY single clip of wrestlers paying tribute from the Raw after he died, including several that were never aired. I think that entire segment alone was nearly an hour.
