NXT seems like it needs to regroup and come up with a new hook because the main roster has feasted on the people that were carrying the brand and there's only so many top international/indy people out there to drive up interest amongst the hardcore fans. Finn is a great wrestler but I find him kind of boring a lot of the time. Joe is cool. Apollo is pretty nice. Corbin can EAD. NXT needs Sami and a good opponent and story to get the mojo going again. What, Mojo can't get the mojo going? Also, as for Corbin... Honestly, I think people are kind of letting their early dislike of him cloud the work he's doing now. Guy's been putting on some great work lately and is very good at carrying himself as an above-it-all slimy heel.

Anything NXT Takeover has a complete shit show I'm not betting against it no matter how "lousy" it may look on paper.

Honestly, I trust the people who put NXT together to keep the wheels going. No, not every match is gonna be some 5 star mat classic and the women's match isn't gonna be the second coming of SHIMMER, but the people down there need the same time The Horsewomen, Tyler, etc got to go from "who the f*** are these jobbers they suck" to "omg Vince is gonna ruin them cause they're REAL WRESTLERS"

Dana is (or at least was, they've held her out from matches for quite some time now) improving, Big Cass is improving, Jason Jordan is improving, Corbin is improving. Emma has reinvented herself and has been great to watch. But it's going to take a lot of time put into people's characters in order to build a feud with as much heat as Sasha/Bayley had, or that Zayn/Owens had (and Zayn/Owens was able to be hot-shot as it was because of all their personal history and work history together pre-WWE). Until then, though, there's going to be a lot of complaining while we get there, and there will always be people who want to be the first one to make that "Has NXT Jumped the Shark?" (or whatever their preferred term is) topic and be able to say they knew it was going to go to shit before everyone else did.

I'm going so thats reason enough to look forward to it. I hope the show will be great but I have my doubts. It is a shame Bayley is facing Jaxx but at least we get Emma v Asuka which could be a match of the night contender.

I don't understand how you can like pro wrestling and not look forward to this but each to their own.

I don't understand how you can like pro wrestling and not look forward to this but each to their own. Yeah seriously. Maybe it won't reach the standard of Respect or Brooklyn but those were top-to-bottom better than nearly all of the WWE's PPVs that the WWE have put on in recent years. I'm willing to wait until after the show before I decide if I was feeling it or not. Just this kind of thing makes wrestling fans look entitled; There hasn't been a bad Takeover yet and then you get people saying that they're not feeling Joe or Finn when they had a f***ing great match against Dash & Dawson last takeover and both had damn good matches at Brooklyn.

We're so damned spoiled with NXT. We've got a PPV on Sunday where the main event is Roman Reigns versus f***ing Sheamus, and now were complaining about a card with Samoa Joe vs Finn Balor. Sure, compared to TLC it's a much better card IS IT, though? I mean look at TLC -Sheamus vs Roman will be a fun gimmick brawl, if only because the match type itself calls for it -Owens vs Ambrose will be amazing -TRIPLE THREAT TAG TEAM LADDER MATCH, nuff said -Nostalgia-fueled elimination 8-Man Tag match hossfest -Charlotte vs Paige will probably be alright; shenanigans will surely happen with Ric around -Only real dud will be the Chairs match, and that's because Chairs matches suck TakeOver has -Finn Balor vs Samoa Joe, which on paper should be incredible -Enzo & Big Cass vs Dash & Dawson is more about the outcome than the actual match -Bayley vs a green Nia Jax -A glorified Asuka squash match -Apollo Crews vs Baron Corbin in a match that I'm still not entirely sure why it's happening other than Corbin just attacked Crews for no real reason that one time. Am I a fool to think TLC will be the better show?

With Punk and Bryan out of the picture, my favorite WWE guy is Joe. So yeah, I'm excited to see my favorite getting a title shot. The rest of the card looks solid too, no complaints here.

I'm just glad I might be able to watch this before I go to work. I've missed the last couple of Takeovers because of it. I like that they're going to try and tell a different story with Bayley/Jax. They've never really had that "Top face takes on the big heel monster" within the women's division before, so hopefully it will at least be a good match within that context. Honestly, I feel that it's too soon to be pushing Nia Jax. She is still a little green. I think it's a set up for a Nia Jax-Eva Marie feud since it seems like Eva wants Nia to take the belt so she can eventually turn on her for the title.

It's not a knock on what he does because he really is a slimy shitheel.

Am I a fool to think TLC will be the better show? Not at all. TLC looks like a pretty fun show and putting both cards side to side like that shines a light on it. Plus say what you will about Reigns' booking this year but dude has been on fire in PPV matches. The main event should be real good.

Other than Bayley-Jax, I'm pumped for the rest of the card. I really want Joe to take that title from Balor to give Balor a good reason to CHASE him for it. That's what makes a good babyface and right now, Finn ain't it. Maybe the same can be said for Bayley and a loss wouldn't necessarily be a setback if she chases the rampaging Nia, who destroys the rest of the womens roster. Hmm, maybe there is some sense here after all. Though, I would suggest a 3-way tag dance between Dash/Dawson, SAWFT and Jordan/Gable. I think it's too early for Enzo and Big Cass to get the title shot and I suspect Dash and Dawson will pull hijinks to keep the titles.

Really for wrestling action I don't think you can go wrong with either card. I prefer the NXT show as I am more invested in that than anything on the main roster.

Same, and Corbin v Crews is happening because Crews got the number 1 contendership that he feels he deserves, Crews fought back, so we have a match.

If the show in Newcastle I went to is anything to go by, we'll make it special here in the UK. The atmosphere for the show was VERY different from your usual UK crowd for Raw/Smackdown.
As far as I'm aware, Newcastle is known, surprisingly so, for being a little bit of a shit crowd when it comes to WWE. Yet, at NXT on Thursday, we were LOUD. Chants were rife, far from obnoxious, almost all about the talent in the ring (bar a few asshats amongst the crowd). And this was at half capacity. London's going to be a diverse, hardcore crowd, and it's sold out. They'll be loud, they'll make it special, because it is special. First PPV in the UK since Insurrextion or Rebellion, I forget which.
So the card might not be comparable to previous ones, but the crowd will be something else. Expect a lot of new, novel chants, and perhaps some chants stolen from ICW, Progress and others. I can totally see ONE FALL from ICW getting over since it has at both Newcastle and Glasgow so far.
As for the talent, Joe was absolutely fantastic on Thursday, looked on top of his game. Crews was great, Corbin was great, Asuka was great, Bayley, Emma, all great. Enzo and Cass were over like rover. Everyone who is on that TakeOver UK card is looking really fired up for the UK tour. And then there's Sami, who hasn't missed a step in his injury.
It'll be good, trust me.

Then both events happened and the NXT show was executed better. That's how my expectations are going for the December PPVs again.

I admit that I haven't been following NXT as much as I'd like to lately, but I'm definitely looking forward to Takeover: London because they've consistently put on damn good shows.
