Roster Thread

The Rules

The Wrestling Universe is based on an alternate future for WWE, where WCW rises again and takes with it half of the WWE roster. Both brands have now been put on hiatus and instead, tournaments rule the wrestling world.

To join WU, all you have to do is post in the thread claiming a non-taken superstar for your own, making sure it is in accordance with the rules. If you wish to bring an NXT superstar to the big time, you have a choice of what company to put them in(although you can only have two takens and six tag-rules per show). If you wish to bring in a superstar from TNA, NJPW, or the indies, you will have to receive permission from the booker of the show you want to put them on - it may be denied if they are too obscure.

Aside from that, to get involved within the game, all you have to do is sign up and join tournaments. From there submit roleplaying promos for your characters to the person running the tournament, and potentially partake in feuds and other storylines throughout the battles. After all, creative writing really is the aim of the game here, it's all about having fun. Any additional information will be found on our archive forum, which is linked here.

Shit, I really don't want to do this on the back end of another really great writer quitting (for real, Gus, thank you for all you've done here. I think I speak for everyone here when I say that you were one of the most solid writers here day in and day out), but I figure I might as well just post it now. It's looking more and more like my career here is gonna have to end. School's been getting tougher, home life and family drama has intensified, and shit in general has just been getting more out of hand. I love you guys, and I always will, however, it looks like I'm gonna have to be on my way out. It was a great run here (four years, if the math is right), and I mean it 100 percent when I say that, even if I'll never meet most of you IRL (although honestly I'd totally be down to), you're some of my favorite people I've met, on the internet or otherwise. I'll never forget the dumb inside jokes we have, the random bullshit that went on in these threads, and the weird personalities that existed within these realms. In my adult life I'll be a part of fraternities and companies and clubs and families, but I'll never be a part of a place just like WWE:FAN.

But, alas, anyone who follows wrestling knows that "retirement" only really exists in abstract terms (shoutout Terry Funk). So, don't you worry, I'll be back to pull a Brock Lesnar on occasion and steal spots from various active members. Art imitates life, kids.

And I figure maybe a good way to go out as an active member is to host a tournament. So, anyone who'd be interested in competing in said tournament, hit me up. Reply to this message, PM me, whatever. I'll enter Hardy and Reigns in the tournament already, so we've got two members so far. Anyone else willing to jump into the fray, holla at me. Hi y'all. Perhaps I should clarify something: This thread is for promoting tournaments that will take place and people signing up for WU in general by picking up a wrestler.

Suave's first post advertising his tournament was perfect. But the actual tournament and people signing up to join it should be in a separate thread (one created by Suave so he can edit the front post with updates as the tournament goes on).

Either way, glad to see the first tournament created and hope it goes well!

EDIT: And just to re-iterate, you can only join a tournament with a character you currently own/claim. So to use the above post as an example, if Hayden wanted to use Chad Gable in Suave's tournament he would:

1) Post in the WU thread requesting to write for Chad Gable.
2) Be approved for him.
3) Post in Suave's thread and try to gain the tournament with Gable.
