La Resistance own a milk bagging company? It's all a front for what they really do: Sell mixed breed puppies with false papers.

Yes, Maryse is from Montréal, and the thing where she entered NB as her place of residence to enter the Diva Search is 100% fact. Smart, she got a job. She was harmless in her run. I don't think she was fan of wrestling, but she worked hard to get better at it. I think in today's environment, with the attention to the training the girls get, she'd be one of the best. She learned fast, and she didn't mind getting roughed up. She did magazine modelling (I have a pre-WWE magazine of hers!) before her wrestling run and went back to that after it.
Sylvain Grenier and I went to the same high school, we were like 2 years apart. We were in no way friends, and I don't remember him being a wrestling fan, at least he didn't hang with the other fans. He failed to qualify for Rougeau Gym "sponsored" training (Where they don't make you pay for your training because they figure you'll be special) and he wouldn't pay for the lessons, so he had some basic training from NCW and he wrestled very lightly there before meeting Pat Patterson, playing golf with him and getting the training with Dory Jr. and Rocky Johnson. Nowadays, he's the promoter of TOW, a company that mostly stars former FLI guys and a few top current names (Speedball Bailey, Buxx Belmar...) and sells its shows to third parties (The Global Force model, zero risk) for them to sell tickets for. They ran three times in 2015. He also has a wrestling school, which has yet to produce anything of value...
René Duprée couldn't fail. He had everything. But he had bad habits BEFORE joining WWE. The narrative he tries to sell where his drug issues STARTED in WWE is false. Contrary to Grenier, Duprée DID get in FLI with much hype. But he had like 3 matches when he was 16 or 17 before those issues kept it from going longer. Then he got signed by WWE at 17-18 and his issues might have gotten worse there, but in no way was he clean going in. He had moderate recreational use going in, if they had wellness screening back then like they do today, he might not have gotten signed. I hear that a couple years ago, his family was really worried about his health but now he's stepped away from the business some and apparently is doing better so that's great.
I think that a thread about why Duprée failed with the tools he had would be interesting.

Huh, all these years I thought Dupree was legit French. Well, I'll be damned. The second part still applies though. Rene was doing the French gimmick on SmackDown so it would have been redundant doing it on both shows. He's from the french part of New Brunswick. Yes there is a French Part of New Brunswick. Mayrse is also from The French Part. Sylvain is French CANADIAN, and so is Rene Dupree. Neither man was from France. Hell, Rene Dupree is not from Quebec; he's from New Brunswick. 32% of the population in New Brunswick speak French as a First Language. I knew a guy from the French part of NB once. His English was decent, actually pretty awesome, for how long he'd been speaking it. Though sometimes, he wouldn't know the English word for something and just imitate the sound he felt it made. That was amusing. "The buzzer go ring!" "No, buzzers buzz, bells ring" "Ok, the buzzer go bzzzzzzz!"
