About to show my ignorance, but the more I think about it I start to realize I can't think of that many actual gimmicks the lucha promotions featured beyond the superficial or super-generic. The masked men, the high flyers, the brothers. This is, obviously, not counting the guys from the U.S. (or elsewhere) who work there and bring their gimmick with them. Just talking the traditional luchadores. Do they have actual gimmicks, the way it is here? Are characters supposed to be anything other than guys in the ring trying to beat the other guys? Even La Parka, he dances a little, but what's his gimmick beyond that?

The only one I can think of, and I am by no means an expert so am quite possibly wrong, is Latin Lover who obviously had a ladies man gimmick. I can't off the top of my head think of any others

Wasn't La Parka/LA Park actually portrayed as having supernatural powers at one time?

Really original gimmicks are quite few, not only in lucha

I can't think of many promotions of any era past or present not having at least one guy with a real gimmick on the roster. Just in the past few years, we've had cultists, matadors, ballroom dancers, party ravers, dual-personality agents of hell, post-apocalyptic Mad Max cosplayers, a &%^#ing rabbit, movie stars, radical xenophobes, musicians, motivational speakers, etc. Most - not all but most - indies still have at least one cowboy or goth or the like somewhere in there. Even when it was at its peak during the late 80s and early 90s, that didn't seem to bleed over into lucha much (again, outside of the Americans going there).

Everything that is a gimmick in the US, is a gimmick in Mexico. Some of the indies I watch have nerds, male strippers, ninja turtles, Simpsons, aliens, demons, Satanists, cosmic deities, and chulos. Nothing is safe.

Because you can find all of that in lucha too. even more In lucha you have mithycal beasts, superheroes, cartoon characters, historical figuries and etc. Obviously some are just guys with generic names and generic masks, but again the same apply for U.S/japan/UK etc wrestlers

Don't forget about the exoticos in lucha libre. They are male wrestlers who wrestle in drag.
