RAW is live tonight from Brooklyn's Barclays Center for the final show of a tumultuous 2015, and in a rarity for RAW this year, we've had a couple of things announced ahead of time!
Having not been in action since losing his United States Championship at Hell in a Cell in October, former 15 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena returns to the ring tonight to take on the man who won the championship from him that night in Los Angeles, League of Nations member Alberto Del Rio. As far as we're aware, Del Rio's championship is not on the line this evening, but is Cena interested in getting it back, or just wanting to get revenge over Del Rio?
En route to winning back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship two weeks ago, Roman Reigns decked WWE Chairman Vince McMahon with a Superman Punch. Stephanie McMahon tried to punish Reigns and his friends last week, but they got away with what she had planned, so poor Tom Phillips had to pay the price. Tonight on RAW, Daddy Mac is back to do the job right. What heinous plans does he have for the WWE Champion and his pals?
Charlotte's list of priorities is 1: Divas Championship, 2: Becky Lynch... or is 2 really something like 1,000,000? Last week on the live episode of SmackDown, Team B.A.D. came out and humiliated Lynch by pouring egg nog over her whilst Charlotte was wrestling Brie Bella in a non-title match. Instead of going out to attend to Becky, Charlotte elected to continue with her match, getting the victory. It seemed as though she was laughing AT Becky too. When will Becky finally see through her "friend", and will it be tonight?
The League of Nations have been targeting Tag Team of the Year The Usos (much to The New Day's chagrin), laying them out on RAW, and trying to do the same on SmackDown, only for Roman Reigns to make the save. With Del Rio preoccupied with John Cena tonight, that leaves Sheamus, Rusev and King Barrett (dependent on his injury status) at the mercy of Reigns, Dean Ambrose and The Usos. Will we get a tag team match tonight, or possibly a six-man?
RAW will have a smaller crew tonight, as there's also a house show in Allentown, PA (the likes of the Wyatt Family, Dolph Ziggler, Tyler Breeze and Paige won't be on RAW tonight), but the RAW preview on WWE.com states that The New Day will be on the show, and having retained their Tag Team Titles against the Lucha Dragons on SmackDown, and still holding a grudge that The Usos were voted Tag Team of the Year, you'd bet on Big E, Kofi and Xavier making a big impact on RAW tonight.
All this plus Kevin Owens still being sour over losing the Intercontinental Title and anything else that might be going on, tonight from 8/7c on USA... with a new episode of Breaking Ground immediately following on the WWE Network!
