Giving THEM the tag titles over the Legion of Doom says in all.

This was probably the peek for Thrasher.

This was probably the peek for Thrasher. Is that the bootleg version in China? Or was Rick Rude/Chyna censored over there?

I watched Smackdown a couple of weeks ago and everyone seemed to be over. Late 90s crowds were SO much different and wrestling was perceived SO much differently then. I just watched Goldberg's victory against Hogan on Nitro again and not even a Wrestlemania main event would get THAT sort of reaction from a crowd. It was a whole different universe and I think WWE and the lazy monopoly they've been playing for over a decade is to blame that there most likely won't be crowds like that anymore. Today, it's smarky nerds, kids and their parents and nothing seems to matter on a boring formulaic show of the same old shitty multi man tag team matches and even those were much more fun back then. It was a joke about the piped in cheers.

I remember Vince sounding legitimately baffled by it on commentary. King would always ask JR about Nine Inch Nails and Slayer and JR would be all "I'm just a country boy, Hank Williams!"

Considering the tag roster in 1997 had the Godwinns, New Blackjacks and Furnas/LaFon, they were a gimmick young adults could like. I think that's probably the correct answer, especially when you consider that they were obsolete once the New Age Outlaws got super-over.

My fave exchange between Lawler & Vince. "Vince, you're not into the kind of music the Headbangers are, aren't you?" Well, not really. "White Zombie?" Um, no. "Marilyn Manson?" Well, not too famil... "Butthole Surfers?" Well, no...excuse me?

They were better than they get credit for, but not by a far amount.
The reunion period had its moments. The cone bras and plastic title belts were somewhat funny.

Punctuated when the Outlaws smashed a JVC KaBoom-Box over one of their heads, I believe.

They were definitely over for a while.

I remember before their match with the Outlaws, they cut a promo talking about "doing the J-O-B on the P-P-V" and yeah I also remmeber them smashing the boombox over the head of Road Dogg on the 10/12/98 Raw. It wasn't a JVC Kaboom Box as J.R pointed out a hundred times that night because "they don't break".

They were so big at one time, the Rock singled out headbanger Mosh as his main threat in the 2000 rumble match. He's lucky Mosh was in & out well before Rock got in the match. In fact......that's when it all started. It was the first thing Rikishi did...........for the Rock.

Yeah, I am re-watching those shows with them now, they are not over at all. Mainly because they were in the tag division at the same time as Austin. Also, because their gimmick sucked. Seriously, they win the tag titles over the biggest heel stable in the company, and no one reacts at all

Never cared for them. I didn't like that they beat the Rock'n'Roll Express either.

So over for me, I did the Easter egg in Wrestlemania 2000 where I turned Chaz permanently into Mosh
