I mean, I'm still a big fan of the guy so there may be some bias in me, but I swear that was unlike any other time I've seen him mold a crowd into his hands. There were loud boos for him same as other negative crowds at other cities were towards him, but by the end of his match Cena drove so much energy into Brooklyn and won them over so much that you could almost a freaking pin drop during the "Cena Sucks!" chants.... I have to say that was a thing of beauty. They should use that for future lessons at NXT's Performance Center as an example of how to electrify the crowd.

He does have a "black preacher voice" according to some. He has gotten excellent at playing the crowds but I don't know his style would work for anyone else.

He's just that gifted. His mic skills are something that only Austin, Rock and Punk could do. The ability to mold the crowd any way you want is honestly the greatest skill you can have in this company ran by Vince McMahon.

Cheap heat. All he did was name drop local celebrities.

Cheap heat. All he did was name drop local celebrities. Still works. What you can only respect heat if it's crafted from some seriously intense long passion filled 5 minute shoot? Plus "Smart" fans (like New York) like to think that they'd see through "pandering" like that and boo anyone else out of hte building.

I always marked for Foley's hometown pops. I'm just saying anyone could have dropped those names to cheers. Cena shouldn't get credit for it.

He's talented on the mic and in the ring. It's just too bad that his character and real self comes across like a HUGE douchenozzle.

His entrance at WrestleMania XXVII seems to indicate that he is.

It's not a bad thing that Cena pandered since the crowd was dead almost the entire show, but anyone could've done that.

He should bring some NEVER GIVE UP collection baskets to pass around ringside during his promos.

Yup. And just like most preachers, its all shameless pandering, lowest common denominator tripe and saying nothing new or interesting in a loud booming voice while trying to shame anyone who doesn't agree with him, but pretending he's actually doing it for their own good.
