I don't see how last night's loss is on Marvin Lewis. It's not like he personally injured Andy Dalton, who was having a great season before he got hurt and they had to put the hopes of the franchise on AJ McCarron. Maybe if it was a another Dalton chokejob in the postseason you could pin some of the blame on Lewis, but backup QB's are backups for a reason. Tom Brady is the glaring exception to the rule and AJ McCarron is no Tom Brady. And Denver is probably the most difficult place in the world to play as a road team in terms of environmental conditions, especially late in games and especially if they go to OT. Maybe it's a bit unfair to blame last night in Lewis. But the other 15 times his teams cropped their pants in big moments indicative of a problem with being ready Oh he definitely deserves his share of blame for the past seasons and would've deserved it if the same thing happened again, especially with Dalton having the great regular season he had before his injury. But now? I think he gets a pass for this season because it's easy enough to blame another potential one and done on not having Dalton.

The problem is that he keeps getting them

Damn Bungles. I was actually rooting for them to win just so we could put an end to the whole "Will the Colts make the playoffs?" nonsense. Meh. I'm still rooting for them to make just because of how insane things would have to become for it to happen. It would be the perfect summation to how screwed up this season has been in general (unless you are a fan of the Cards or Panthers).

Honestly, I agree with the people calling for Marv to go at this point. I'm not talking about this season or really even last season but when you look at his total track record, something has to give. God bless the dude, he's practically an institution in the city by now because he's been around for so long and he has genuinely done a lot of good for the program from what I understand but it's time for some new blood. At least try something different for a few seasons and see how it goes. If it's a hot mess, ok but at least you tried. The OC seems like he's got a good handle on things, maybe give him the spot and see how he does.
Monday's loss really doesn't have anything to do with him though. It's a backup QB playing in his first Primetime game (that's also an away game) in Denver. That's a situation nearly any team could loss but of course, all the cornballs are getting their "LOLBENGALS" digs in while their team is sitting at like 7-8 or some shit.

There was some talk before last week's loss to the Jets that, had the Patriots wrapped up homefield advantage prior to week 17, they would have rested a majority of their starters. Well, given their current injury situation, I don't know if they would have been able to field a team if they were resting healthy players.
The team has already ruled out seven players: Justin Coleman, Jonathan Freeny, Sebastian Vollmer, Julian Edelman, Dont'a Hightower, Chandler Jones, and Sealver Siliga. According to those in the know, they might have as many as seven players listed as active Sunday who cannot play because of injuries. They include Rob Ninkovich, Danny Amendola, Patrick Chung, Josh Kline, Brandon LaFell, Devin McCourty, and LaAdrian Waddle.
In essence, the Patriots will be playing in Miami on Sunday with a 53-man roster that has been trimmed to 39 legitimately active players.

Pats should just go ahead and rest the big name players like Brady and Gronk. I'm sure the 2nd string can beat the Phins 1st string.

Pats should just go ahead and rest the big name players like Brady and Gronk. I'm sure the 2nd string can beat the Phins 1st string. My thought process, given the injury situation and the quest for homefield advantage, is that if either team gets out to a two-touchdown lead, the Patriots should rest Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. If the Patriots lead by 14, sit those two and give Jimmy Garoppolo some reps with the "first team" offense and see if he can preserve a two-score edge against a team that appears to have thrown in the towel. If the Dolphins lead by 14, give Brady and Gronkowski the rest of the day off and essentially wave the white flag and concede defeat and hope the Chargers pull a miracle out of their rear ends against the Broncos later this afternoon. Clinching homefield advantage and ensuring that the road to Super Bowl 50 goes through Foxboro would of course be ideal, but in this situation, health comes first. A healthy Patriots team can go into Denver and win the AFC Championship. A battered and bruised Patriots team might not be able to win at Gillette Stadium against Denver or Cincinnati or the Jets or Pittsburgh.

Brace yourselves. This Jets/Bills game is going the way of the 2009 game.
