“Glee” star Mark Salling was arrested Tuesday on child pornography charges, Los Angeles police say.

Salling, who starred on the hit Fox musical as a regular for four seasons and continued to appear through the series finale this spring, was arrested after the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a search warrant for his home in Sunland, Calif.

He is currently being processed in the downtown jail in Los Angeles, according to the department’s public information officer, though no other information is available at the moment. TMZ reports that police officers found “hundreds of images” on Salling’s computer.

Salling, 33, (largely off the Hollywood grid since his days as singer/football player Noah “Puck” Puckerman on “Glee”) made headlines in 2013 when he was sued by an ex-girlfriend, Roxanne Gorzela, for sexual battery. He denied the allegations and soon filed a cross-complaint, but earlier this year he settled the suit and was ordered by a judge to pay Gorzela $2.7 million.

The news of Salling’s arrest was first reported by syndicated investigative series Crime Watch Daily. The actor’s representative has not replied to a request for comment.

Then you should know that reporting standards and a thread on a random discussion board are not one and the same.

I really don't know what you're arguing for here? The article reports the arrest and the known facts involved, letting people come to their own conclusions. It's not like WaPo is saying "He's an inhuman kiddie f***er who deserves to fry!" There's nothing at all in that article that comes off as libelous.

Would you not want them to report on his arrest and charges at all? Because I think that's a far more egregious offense. The press has the duty to inform the public and waiting for a guilty verdict to report anything is incredibly irresponsible.

Even if, there's still a world of difference- because sex crimes are far different than any other crime, since no matter whether you're innocent or guilty, you're doomed either way: If you're found guilty, you naturally did it and are a sick pedo.

If you're found innocent- even completely, 100% exonerated, the courts issue a full-page public apology in every newspaper and website that reported it, it's told to the world you absolutely did not do it? You're not innocent and clear of it- you're just the sick pedo son of a bitch who paid some high-priced lawyer who found the ticky-tackiest of all technicalities so you could get away with it.
