* WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus and Kevin Owens ends in a DQ after a good hard-hitting brawl. Reigns stopped Owens from powerbombing him through the announce table after the match, with a Superman punch

I was going to make a joke about Reigns taking over and embarrassing Ambrose's opponent, the guy who put him out Monday, but I didn't.
Shoulda made that joke.

* Tyler Breeze defeated Goldust by pinfall. Breeze and Summer Rae are apparently done as they decide to split up for the New Year So much for having a clear plan lasting several months before bringing people up from NXT...

* Tyler Breeze defeated Goldust by pinfall. Breeze and Summer Rae are apparently done as they decide to split up for the New Year So much for having a clear plan lasting several months before bringing people up from NXT... Tyler was in a weird spot and still is. He's been in NXT a long time but at that point was using other people to get over. Ironically, as soon as they called him up Full Sail was hijacking Tyler and trying to make him the new NXT Superface. I think he should have had a title match vs Balor at least before the call up
Since being called up he has been in a meaningless revolving door feud with Ziggler where he won one PPV Match and lost several others, and now is being regulated to the Undercard, I mean at least he's winning those matches but damn...
Breeze should be in a belt feud or at least the picture, but he kinda just seems lost at the moment... If I'm honest I saw a ton of potential with him tag teaming with Tye Dillenger because both have very similar gimmicks, and I would still want to see that if anything, but as it stands now, no clue where Tyler goes from here...
One thing I would do is stop doing the Unprettier. The Beauty Shot was his own move and his own finisher... all I can think of with the Unprettier is Christian and it's distracting...

Booking plans for individual guys is completely impractical, I think, because you have to try and fit it around everyone else's individual booking plans.

So much for having a clear plan lasting several months before bringing people up from NXT... Booking plans for individual guys is completely impractical, I think, because you have to try and fit it around everyone else's individual booking plans. I'm just repeating what HHH himself said, haha. In a sense, that's true especially if you book week to week. You can still have a general idea of what you want somebody to do as far as their character, spot on the card, who they should and should not be losing to, etc though. Understand what you want to achieve with someone before you bring them up. Plans change, of course. That's wrestling. If you have a plan though, you can always find a way to stay the course even if you have to take a different route. That's what I took HHH's comment to mean and that's essentially the exact opposite of what they've done with Tyler Breeze. This really does feel like a call-up where it's like, "ok, NXT is starting to get a bit too crowded, let's get this dude out of there so we can make some more room for new people" instead of "we've decided where we want to go with Tyler's character so let's bring him up." They've beat him to death in the, what, 2 months since he showed up on Smackdown and now he's losing the girl he just hooked up with (and did next to nothing with beside having her look hot next to him)? He's Fandango that gets to win a bit more than usual right now. It's not like he's a lost cause if you really want him to be something but if you just needed a midcard dude to get beat around, why isn't this the real Fandango? Or Heath Slater? Or a couple of lower card heels that really aren't doing much? You could have even used Miz for this role, he ain't doing anything! All they've done is taken a fresh character and made it clear to everybody that he's just like all these other lower card goofballs. You can't even say that's because the roster is beat up because he was losing within 2-3 weeks of being on the main roster. Ziggler even won the feud. If you want him to be a serious threat, it's not too late by any means. But they've shot themselves in the foot with this. The effort that it's now gonna take to rebuild Breeze is effort they could have used to get the stink off somebody like Fandango to begin with and it would have been better served because they aren't using this fresh character. This just comes off like a wasteful call-up and one that didn't have much thought put into it. That's more what I'm trying to say. Not that it's HHH fault or anything but that quote popped into my head while I was reading that. It's good for Breeze because he's making more money but from the standpoint of a television show, they have not gotten off to a good start with this dude.

Personally, I think the problem is that they're often trying to build up damaged goods with other damaged goods. This is why we need unsigned local jobbers in the cycle again... so the full-time roster aren't defeating each other to get credibility.

F***ing hell. I know Ambrose is a tough dude and all but let him sell his god damn injury, that just makes Owens look like shit and he essentially murdered the guy to the point it took them like 10 minutes to drag him to the back.
Hell, CENA was out for a bit after Owens beat him down, that's just lame...
I remember how Wyatt would always absolutely destroy Ambrose during their feud last year, especially during their Ambulance match, and Ambrose would come out on the next show like nothing happened. So there's a precedent for this at least. The man walked in the middle of a snowstorm all the way to the Titan Towers. Pretty sure nothing can kill him.

With Breeze the thing is, that he's good enough to be...not a loser jobber loser stuck with the likes of R-Truth, but they aren't going to put him up against the likes of Cena, Reigns and Ambrose any time soon because he just got to the main roster a couple of months ago. Revolving door feuds with someone In the "we sorta kinda pretend he's a sorta kinda 'top guy' but not really" club like Ziggler is the best he can get for now.

Dean Ambrose goes from getting put through a table and selling it like Papa Shango returned to put a voodoo curse on him to wrestling the very next show. That kind of beat down usually puts somebody out for a couple of weeks to sell the injury. I guess WWE 2015/2016 doesn't believe in doing that.

That recap just reads depressing. They don't even try anymore, do they?
