I've never known an industry hate the people that buy the product so much as wrestling. Believe it or not, it's actually probably worse with film. Then again, film might be even shadier than wrestling, and that's saying something.

I've never known an industry hate the people that buy the product so much as wrestling. Amazing isn't it? When I'm watching a football pregame show, the announcers don't go "Another sellout crowd here at Giants stadium. Haha what a bunch of marks, could've watched at home on TV but instead paid top dollar for tickets. Just buy the NFL cable package, it's only 9.99 you stupid MARKS!" I've been to comic convention fan fests, and when people go up to Macgyver for an autograph he doesn't laugh in the customer's face and go "You watched my show? Haha you're such a mark. You got worked! Now give me your money." But in wrestling, the fans are never appreciated. We actually have storylines where the owner of the company threatens to sue the audience just for showing up. Threatening your paying customers with legal action in the name of "entertainment." Sure pal. Like Cornette once said, no other sport except wrestling has more former fans than current ones.

I am part of the IWC and haven't watched RAW or a PPV since night of champions. He needs to stop grouping everyone together. Yeah, I know a lot of people do the whole "I'm never watching again" thing and then watch anyway, but aside from NXT I have not watched WWE regularly in years. These days, I pretty much just watch if I hear something awesome happened that I want to check out. And you know people ARE quitting watching, that's why the ratings are down.

Joey has always seemed like a huge dick. This doesn't help that.

They've got to get out of this complacent and arrogant attitude that the fans will always tune in regardless of how "poopy" their product is.
I used to be one of those who tuned in faithfully every week, I was pushed too far and haven't tuned in for over a year now. And looking at their ratings, I'm certainly not the only one.

Joey lost my fandom of him when he told Mike Awesome to kill himself for having the audacity to leave ECW with the heavyweight belt when Awesome was owed money. f*** off with that. Guy destroys his body and doesn't get paid, so you tell him to kill himself on commentary? Man up and tell him to his face. Then Awesome actually does kill himself.
Styles also became a big hero for sucker punching JBL.

All he got to write an WWE.Com article about the American Legion Post #308 in Scenic Reseda, CA with former PWG alumni and current WWE wrestlers giving insights on performing there and the lemmings will lap it up & forget his tweets until the next series insulting them. What people need to understand is that this isn't WWE just hating and disrespecting their fanbase. The wrestling industry in general don't respect you. The same people you are willing to fight for look at you like a f***ing mark while saying you're the greatest. Joey plays to the IWC when needed and knows some pandering will make you forgive him. After all he used to run a wrestling news website.

Yeah, there's being an ECW Bleeding Heart, and then there's being a dense prick like Joey Styles. ECW was in the financial shit pot at the time, so nobody should be blamed for wanting to actually make money, champion or not.

Then again, film might be even shadier than wrestling, and that's saying something. I've been working in the film industry for over 20 years and I've never found that. It may be indifferent to the audience at times but I've never noticed the outright hostility that wrestling has. Most people I've worked with have been really good people trying to do their best to entertain the audience with the odd David Duchovny who has a hate on for their fans.

Wrestling fan self-hatred and anti-IWC silliness is utterly beyond my comprehension to some people. It's like reading Fox News comment sections.

Joey Styles is, was, and always shall be f***ing terrible as a person and a commentator. If ECW was still chugging along, this idiot would be bashing WWE left and right just like the dreaded "IWC". He's a gutless stooge. Nothing more, nothing less.

The weird thing to me is that they'll criticize online fans and then use phrases like "heel turn", "shoot", and "kliq" to try and pander to that exact same group. WWE can't even decide on who they hate.
