Yes Joey the IWC always watches...Which is why raw is in a ratings spiral, Put down the bottle Joey. Considering that is the audience that is still watching, he's not not exactly wrong. Hell, we've had this debate for weeks following every RAW, people say they hate it, someone says don't watch, they say they cannot because reasons.

WWE is getting record low ratings and he is seriously doing the whole "no one will ever beat WWE" gimmick? Attitudes like that is how major companies go down the toilet. they think they invincible. They also never seem to acknowledge the possibility that they could remain the #1 company in wrestling and still collapse. Large corporations can fall for a number of reasons, you know.

WWE's revenue grows every year, every year setting a new high record. They aren't exactly circling the drain. NJPW, which most consider the #2 company in the world, I believe stated they had $26 million in revenue last year. WWE had about $550 million, they're in a completely different world than everyone else.

Complains about internet fans, yet works on WWE.COM for a company that relentlessly shills an online network that appeals only to those very same fans.
He's an idiot.

After digging around on the net, I came upon this: www.twnpnews.com/messages2/8000/8093.shtmlThere's some, well, interesting snippets: I'm sure there are more comments out there somewhere. I guess the issue mostly with what was said, was not really in the end, what was said, but who said it. Most people here think Joey is full of it, and if the Pre-WWE employment comments about WWE are true, then yeah, he sold out.

Yeah, boasting about being the number 1 wrestling company in the current climate feels like boasting about being the best long distance telephone service in 2000.

He has the same problem WCW had.
He thinks WWE is only competing with other wrestling companies.

Yes, and their stock went up because overall revenue was higher than the previous year and the losses were less than expected from to the initial investment in WWE Network (and the Performance Center as well I think). Revenue is more important than profit because you can always match spending to your income. Amazon, for example, is one of the most successful companies in the world yet usually doesn't turn much of a profit because they spend what would be their profits on things that they hope will increase their overall revenue.

Being fair to Joey here, I'm sure Joey Styles in 2001 isn't the same Joey Styles of 2015. That's over a decade of change and growth and everything else. If we were all held to things we said/believed 14 years ago, we'd probably all be in some serious shit.

Also, just because people are watching WWE on TV really doesn't mean much. I watch RAW. Doesn't mean I'm spending any money on the company.

Yeah, and outside of the televised companies, it's actually WORSE. I've seen indy jerks go off on fans online too....only not general, they pick on specific people AND encouraged other fans to harass them. No lie, I had a buddy of mine go through wrestling training, had about....a half dozen matches in him, and already was acting like he'd been around "the loop" a dozen times, and big leaguing fans at shithouse indy shows. It was f***ing incredible to watch. Needless to say, we are no longer friends. Yep, saw plenty of this during the near 7 years I did it. Bullying of newbies, guys getting in with the promoter and burying guys, using their friendships to book themselves in big angles, as a guy who always dreamed of being a wrestler growing up, it killed the f***ing business for me. I've been out of wrestling a year and walking away was the best thing I ever did.

WWE are the only ones who still mock "internet fans"
It's nearly 2016. Practically every fan of anything is online.
These idiots spend shitloads of time babbling on about what's trending.

Like I said, his transformation from "guy I liked and enjoyed spending time with" to "unbearable douche" was remarkably quick and fascinating to watch, in a "Brundlefly" kinda way. It pretty much got away from me when he told me point blank that "I'm just a stupid mark, I don't really "get" the business". Nevermind that I gave the douchebag his finish, haha.

I was pointing out that more people are taking that advice to heart, Don't like it don't watch, Which is happening. I understand that there are moaners who continue to watch. The IWC, IMO, Simply watch wwe to operate at it's full potential and not fall to the lowest common denominator, Sure you have impossible to please Assholes but I see a lot of folks simply tired of the formula wwe has been using for so long.

I like how Joey feels the need to attack what is essentially his remaining audience. Casuals, left. Hardcores, take to the internet to complain about something they like that's currently bad because they want to see it get better.
Not the time for Styles to be attacking fans when they're tuning out in droves.
