The more people talk about Batista, the more sorry I feel for the guy and the reception he got when he came back. People just being high on the Daniel Bryan bandwagon. I miss Batista.

Not a fan of Batista the wrestler, but Batista the dude seems like a cool guy. I mean, someone needs to hire the dude a personal shopper, because he dresses like 10 douches squeezed together into one mega-douche, but he seems like a cool guy.

Actually I believe he and Punk are close friends. Of course at the time things may have been different. Punk had more than one friend in the locker room? I always thought only Kofi was his friend, when Goldman was shown the door. He never strike me as a guy who was the friendly type. Punk said that Orton became a very good friend of his, so it makes sense Batista would also like him. Doesn't make sense that with those guys backing him hhh and Vince wouldn't.

The more people talk about Batista, the more sorry I feel for the guy and the reception he got when he came back. Wasn't the reason he won the Rumble in the first place because he demanded the Mania main event in his contract? No sympy from me.

I don't know if he demanded it, since he's said if he ever did come back now he'd like to do the Jericho thing and work house shows over TV as it's more fun, no time limit on your matches, no writers or anything to deal with and it doesn't seem like a guy who wants to do that would demand a Wrestlemania main event, but i'm sure if the Mania 30 main event was offered to him to sweeten the deal at the time, he'd be stupid to say no.

From what I've seen he got along well with plenty of people, maybe a lower percentage than most but it's not like he was Barry Bonds.

The best part about all these Batista interviews and stories is him cussing out creative and explaining in very obvious terms why it's a stupid idea. The more you hear about him you start to think he's a wrestling genius savant like Paul Heyman.

I think, and this is gonna sound like a bad thing, but I think it kind of comes from the opposite place of Heyman, though. I think he's so smart about the business because he's a lot more detached from it than other guys. For him, it was always "just a job", and it's a lot easier to think critically about your job when you're detached from it like that.

He doesn't give a shit if he jobs or not, just put him on the main roster and let him be a douche heel.

The smartest and happiest guys are the ones who treat it just like a 9-5 gig, and don't get too bent out of shape over minor things. Batista - wealthy, in 2 of the biggest movie franchises ever (The MCU, and 007) The Rock - absurdly wealthy, also part of a huge movie franchise. Goldberg, Brock, etc. All those guys enjoy/enjoyed wrestling, I'm sure, but were far from married to the job, and they're wealthy, happy, and healthy to boot.

Sounds more like they threw it at him and honestly, anyone who says no to a Wrestlemania main event is a god damn moron. Not his fault Vince thought people screaming for Daniel Bryan were just a "vocal minority".

The more you hear about him you start to think he's a wrestling genius savant like Paul Heyman. He's like Tulip's dad in Preacher. Big, tough, jacked-to-the-gills, douche-bro walks into the creative meeting and he's like, "Bro! What's this horse **** about me winning three matches in a row? That's dumb as ****. Any forward-thinking booker would see that there's money to be made in having my opponent get one over on me, Bro! All I'm saying is that until there's genuine meaning to the truly talented guys on the roster, ain't none of these wins mean nothing. Hear what I'm saying? MVP's a STAR, man! How'm I supposed to beat him three times in a row? Doesn't help him. Doesn't help me. Doesn't help this company. I'm doing the job tonight, Bro. Feel me? And where's my ******** spotlight?!?!"
