Texas A&M fires Spavital. Thank you for what you did correctly but your lack of innovation or failure to recognize when your plan is not working and adapt, are why you are no longer there.
He will find work. Meanwhile A&M better have a good assed plan to replace him. I wonder if Kliff is planning on staying in Lubock? Of course nobody there is calling for his head. They are always all too happy to go 6-6 or 7-5

NFL Media's Michael Silver reports that UCLA HC Jim Mora Jr. and Texas A&M HC Kevin Sumlin are "trying hard to get to the NFL." If true I hope he gets there. i don't want anyone there who doesn't want to be there

Yeah maybe so but I still like Sumlin and if he is committed to A&M don't change for the sake of change. But if he is honesty looking at anywhere else than let him go there and get a good coach. Letting him have next year is fine if both sides are cool. Less money on a buyout if you fire him and you get that time to have a next step planned

Oklahoma redshirt junior QB Trevor Knight has decided to transfer to Texas A&M. Fantastic talent, horrible decision making. To Aggies fans, I hope he gets it together and it works out for you. The Sugar Bowl against Alabama was a glimpse to how good he can be, but everything after that was a glimpse to how his decision making doesn't even come close to his talent. This Oklahoma fan will be rooting for him to get it figured out.

On Trevor Knight, motivation of fulfilling a lifelong dream (his words) and proving he was no flash in the pan are big pushes. He is talented and mature. He did not perform well and was overtaken by an upstart. He will remember this and it will either chase him and he'll run a great race with it behind him, or it will catch him and crush him. As someone who knows what determined young men can do, I would take the chance on him. It's an easy risk to assume with a big upside. We'll see...

We'll umm....well shit. Drillbit Taylor yr version of an East Texas feel and mine are different. I'm from south Texas and we regard East Texas with suspicion and borderline revulsion in lots of cases. I enjoyed BCS the time I spent there but didn't get that East Texas vibe. We'll just have to disagree on that I suppose. I will now return to my normal Golden Crecent region superiority complex already in progress. Now that football is over North Texas now belongs to Olkahoma until late summer. El Paso is still unclaimed and untamed territory. San Antonio is still full of ghosts, gangsters and tourists. Austin is doing a brilliant job at keeping itself weird and I am sure that one day indoor plumbing will make its way to Lubbock

Hell I, and other people I know including people a generation older at one time thaught Lamar was a black school. Still have no idea where that comes from. Its just, I think of them as a historically black school like TCU/Parrie View for some reason.

Barry Sanders' son is transferring from Stanford. He is allowed to go to any school not in the Pac-12
All signs points to his dad's alma mater.

Larry Coker "steps down" as UTSA coach...ok sure thing
Drillbit, I used to think the same thing about Lamar. Interesting sidenote, I was flat refused admittance to Prairie View, but was accepted to Wesleyan, UNT, VC/UHV. Counsellors and recruiters always asked me what I "knew" about the school. I had actually gone up there for a summer program between junior and senior yr and knew perfectly well about how I would stand out.

Good move for him provided Herman is actually there when Allen can play again.

I think Stanford just scored again on Iowa Yep Christian Macafree threw a 47 yard bomb and caught the pass himself. He broke four tackles and ran it the remaining 26 yards, picked the extra point and drew up the special teams pattern for the kick off...still no Heisman

andrew8798 A&M's Chancelor lit up a UT blogger who reported Sumlin's imminent firing then went on to report the Kyle Field renovation went $80mil+ over budget due to lack of follow thru on pledges after the oil crash. Ok, so the reporter was full of shit. But the Chancelor of a major university does not need to respond to a f@&$ing website reporter that doesn't even have press creeds to get into any University functions unless he buys a ticket and bribes a security guard. This is more of the inferiority complex A&M does not need to have about Texas. Why bother? If it was Nancy Grace you are still lowering yourself to answer sensational claims like this. They need to just schedule the damn football game again so all this superfluous crap can stop. It's immature and beneath both schools, staff and alumni.
