I know one guy who isn't his friend and I think it's unjustified and that's Miz.... Curt Hawkins actually talked about why so many people don't like Miz or get seriously annoyed by him, apparently he's always in character. Hawkins said that one time they were hanging out and he asked Miz "Just once can you be Mike? I'm tired of being around the Miz". Says he means well, but he's just so overbearing. Most of the people Punk gets along with seem to be video game or comic nerds. Owens said in his shoot that he felt uncomfortable in tights and Gabe and Punk both gave him shit, but a lot of guys who were coming up in the business when Punk was helping book ROH hate him and Gabe for how they treated them.

It's kind of weird how obsessed we are with Punk's personal life. Like there isn't any threads of other wrestlers friends in the business. It's always CM Punk. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Here's what I've glossed over the years:
CM Punk is a typically kinda grumpy, keep to himself dude.
But when you get to know him, he's pretty damn alright, and he's a good friend.
So far as the "CM Punk is a dick to the fans" story, most of those I've heard involve the fan doing something stupid, like stopping Punk while he's running through an airport or yanking his headphones off to get his attention.
Not saying he doesn't deserve his reputation as kind of a surly dick, but just seems like it's been blown up to a mythical level by a lot of people.

As for the previously-mentioned Jericho thing, Jericho said on his podcast that he'd tried been trying to get in touch with Punk, something about sending him a text saying he was listening to The Clash, and Punk blew it off, which Jericho took to mean that he was distancing himself from all of his wrestling friends. Then, on the AoW Punk did, he basically said that Jericho was full of shit and Punk was ignoring him due to feeling like he was just looking to get something he could mention on his podcast for attention. Jericho then cut a short cell phone video saying he would never do anything of the sort, and put it behind a paywall, which did absolutely no favours for the dude in looking like he wasn't looking to get something out of it.
So, probably not great buddies.

Punk didn't actually mention Jericho by name in the podcast (though it seemed fairly certain that was who he was referring to), he just said something to the effect of 'the only people who've contacted me that I've not got back to are the guys I feel are just trying to get information from me to use for their own benefit.'

The time I saw Punk in person he was walking down the street with Domino. He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's.

I actually have a story about that, actually. I used to live in Chicago, and one day, I was walking down the street in my neighborhood when I notice a couple dudes on bikes on the other side of the street. I immediately recognized Cabana, because I'd met him a couple times before just by chance, and he'd always been cool, but it took me a second to recognize the other guy. It wasn't until they were just out of the corner of my eye that I realized it was Punk. Never got the chance to talk to them, of course, because I'm not a lunatic that goes chasing down people on bikes, but just a strange day for me. Someone on here told a story about seeing them in a supermarket and they ignored him when he first asked if they were Punk and Compton, to which the guy thought they didn't hear him. He asked again and they got pissed at him, pretty much telling the guy to leave them alone. Lol that was me. Wasn't a supermarket though, just saw them walking past 711. What a thread that was.

Judging from Bryan's book, they aren't particularly close friends. He really doesn't mention Punk that much. I don't think they hang out or anything, but there is a lot of respect. Punk specifically points out Bryan as everything that is good about wrestling in his infamous callout of Teddy Hart's ego, whereas Bryan is humble and doesn't act like a douchebag. He also put him over as much as he could on commentary, as well as focusing on his bond with Regal, rather than HBK as the other commentators did. Plus I don't think Daniel Bryan has a large social circle either. So yeah, I doubt they've hung out much, but I'm sure they'd respond to one another's texts. Two quirky dudes.

Bryan and Cabana are (or at least have been) close. Bryan co-created the Wrestling Road Diaries during his wilderness period post-tiegate but was rehired before they started shooting. Punk and Bryan seem to respect and admire each other, but being the complete polar opposites in terms of personality probably means they've never been close on a personal level despite moving in a lot of the same circles.

From what I understand him and Chris Hero/Kassius Ohno are pretty good friends. This is also the most late 90s/early 2000s picture you'll ever see.

I haven't seen it, I just remember listening to Bryan on Cabana's podcast where they mentioned it was going to be a joint venture between them but ended up being mostly Colt because Bryan was re-signed while they were putting it together or something like that.

Bryan's in the whole thing. It documents a road trip they take doing indie shows, staying at Bryan's sister's house, etc. It's really not very good; don't recommend.

That's amusing when you consider Punk only really stopped wrestling in basketball shorts in like his last year in ROH. Hardly the guy to give people grief about attire. From what I understand him and Chris Hero/Kassius Ohno are pretty good friends. This is also the most late 90s/early 2000s picture you'll ever see. From Hero's last shoot pre-WWE, he mentioned him and Punk were tight until one day Hero rode with the CHIKARA crew (Bryce, Kingston, Blackjack Marciano) and then Punk had a problem with him from that day on. He did say that they've kinda patched things up but they're not as tight as they used to be.

Does it strike anyone else, as wrestling fans, we like the guy because he's talented, but IF WE worked with him together at a workplace, we probably wouldn't like him, because he would be too salty?
