Are we counting the spinning back fist to the guy in the crowd? If we are, then I'd say he's a bit of a dick to the fans. This comes up quite often - Punk didn't know who hit him, the person reached round to hit him and then hid behind someone else. This. Everyone uses that as an example, but they caught on footage some dude knocking Punk upside the head and hiding. Look at all the trouble they've had with barricade jumpers this year alone; it's evident there's a real concern about a member of the audience doing something stupid, I'd imagine they're all a bit on edge when they do those segments.

It seems like dude feels like he has to play up his "antisocial prick" character which I think is the corniest thing in the world. I've almost always enjoyed him as a performer but something about how he carries himself rubs me the wrong way.
"So edgy, wow, he speaks his mind" No thank you, I'll pass. I already speak my own mind plenty enough and I don't have to be the walking embodiment of a dick hole to do it.

The time I saw Punk in person he was walking down the street with Domino. I actually have a story about that, actually. I used to live in Chicago, and one day, I was walking down the street in my neighborhood when I notice a couple dudes on bikes on the other side of the street. I immediately recognized Cabana, because I'd met him a couple times before just by chance, and he'd always been cool, but it took me a second to recognize the other guy. It wasn't until they were just out of the corner of my eye that I realized it was Punk. Never got the chance to talk to them, of course, because I'm not a lunatic that goes chasing down people on bikes, but just a strange day for me. I`m sure Punk would appreciate if you chase down him while he was on a bike.just go for it

Does anyone know what Chris Benoit thought of him? The way he treated some other guys, throwing out Miz's stuff, making Hassan I believe do hundreds of squats, I wonder how Punk would've turned out if he shared the locker room with Benoit in ECW from 2007-2009 or 2010 before he jumped from ECW for good. Benoit may have gone a little easier on Punk because he had made his bones in wrestling for years before getting signed by the WWE. Miz was already known by being on Real World, and Hassan had been wrestling for about 2 years when he got the callup to the WWE. More than likely, Benoit probably thought they hadn't paid their dues yet and pushed them much harder. He did mention Jericho by name. Said he say Jericho say that Punk was distancing himself from his wrestling fans, but he just didn't want to see someone use his story to make money. And Jericho lost a lot of support as people started to see he was a shill and not the down to earth guy they all thought he was.

I think the main reason Jericho's fallen from grace here is the diminishing value returns. He's one of my favourite wrestlers ever, but he's almost on Big Show levels of adding nothing of value when he shows up. He does come across pretty phoney on his podcast, though. Forget CM Punk's friends, I wonder how many friends Jericho still has left in the Wrestling Business. Malenko Rock The Rock seems to be every wrestler's friend so he doesn't count.

Brodus, Ryder, Hawkins, Cena, Del Rio and Rey have all mentioned/been mentioned by Punk as good friends of his, most of his exes seemed to have remained on good terms with him too, his asshole side seems to be more of a public persona and a way of making sure he got what he wanted in his career, it seems like he's a pretty good friend to people who aren't put off by that and get to know him outside of wrestling. I'm totally fine with him being a dick. Sometimes, that's how you get what you want in life. But he still seems like a dude that I would enjoy hanging out with. He's into Rancid and other punk bands as well.

He and Teddy Hart buried the hatchet several years ago. Hart has told stories about giving him custom track suits as gifts in recent years. That's just such a Teddy Hart thing to do.

Yeah, I remember Punk naming Jericho, and he talked about how it wasn't that he wanted nothing to do with people in the wrestling business, he just didn't want to deal with people who had "an agenda", which explains why he opted to speak out about why he left on his best friend's podcast, rathwer than someone else's or a "Shoot" DVD.

There is a happy medium between being an honest and outspoken jerk and being some sort of two-faced yes man. A lot of discussions about Punk tend to veer into "well, at least he's honest, he's not a corporate shill!" Ok, but why are we analyzing two extremes personality-wise?

The way I see it, Punk probably has a bad reputation because people came to him at the wrong time. How would you feel as a person with his schedule if someone came up to you in an airport at 4:30am saying "Hey, Phil, sign this for me?" or tapping you on the shoulder at a baseball game with your wife and saying "Hey, Phil, how about a picture?". Well...as a fan of Punk's in-ring work, that's a ridiculous outlook to have on his part. Yeah, people can be obnoxious to celebrities but it's no different than what every other wrestler who's worked for the WWE has to put up with. I can totally sympathize with how frustrating it must be, but if he didn't have the foresight to realize that's how life would be given his work he was ignorant. As far as Jericho goes, a significant portion of his "corporate shill" rep around here came about when he was insisting Roman Reigns was the most popular wrestler going when he was with the Shield or words to that effect when the fans pushed back against his super push. He was basically trying to label the fans as contrarians for the same of being contrarians while being oblivious to his own hypocrisy.
