"It's Kevin Owens! He's the fifth man!" "But he said his son was sick, maggle!" "He gave him some Robitussin and he was just fine"

At first Owens make some superficial sense in the group but really his character is a grouchy loner who wants to stay to himself, win titles, and generally doesn't care about anyone. The weird thing about the League is that it was formed to help Sheamus retain the title, but now that he lost the title to Reigns Del Rio is the only guy with a belt in the group and they ran in to save him from losing on Raw. Someone joked that the worst idea ever would be a power struggle between Del Rio and Sheamus, but isn't it kind of inevitable? Did someone say Del Rio vs. Sheamus?

That still doesn't make a lot of sense. They couldn't just add him the next week or whenever he came back? Well I mean Del Rio seemed to be a last second addition. He just debuted his own group 2 weeks prior, just for it to be thrown out.

I think we're stretching the definition of the word 'group' here.

Owens needs to be Bad News Brown. No friends. Just out for himself. And black. And starts calling everyone "Beer bellied share croppers". This will only lead to Dean Ambrose painting himself half black, won't it?

If this is true, what a hilarious symbol for WWE's booking. Their plans are so meaningless that they'll just change them at the last second because a guy is gone for one week.

What Pwinsider failed to report is that Kevins son Owen actually sneezed in the same room as Vince, Vince was reported to be confused and perplexed by this behaviour, Vince then was said to ask Kevin to explain his sons behavior, apparently Kevin attempted to explain that his son was suffering the flu to a bemused look from Vince who turned red and walked away . Later in the night it is believed that a last minute script change happened and that all plans to push Kevin as part of the league of nations were now shelved, it was later found out that Kevin and his son had left the Raw taping and Kevin did not appear on the show. Word making the round at the Smackdown taping the next night was that Vince was furious at the disrespect Kevins son Owen showed by sneezing in public and towards Kevin for failing to discipline his son and making excuses. Upon his return a week later it was reported that several senior sources within the company believed any talk of a Kevin Owens push was now out of the question as he he had already been in the doghouse due to his ongoing weight issues and that this latest incident has pushed him up to the dreaded nuculear heat level.

Owens needs to be Bad News Brown. No friends. Just out for himself. And black. If he comes out as an African Canadian on Monday, then we'll know for sure that somebody in Stanford reads the board.

KO's character is he doesn't care about having friends, he's just going for championships. He doesn't need a gang, especially if he's not top dog. He betrayed his best friend on his debut to get a shot at the NXT title. He only joined Seth's Survivor Series team when he was promised a shot at the WWE title by Seth.
Makes zero sense his character would take a backseat to Sheamus.
Then again, I can imagine him steal the spotlight and break out anyway, a la Nation of Domination Rock.
Thank you, illness?

I guess they became "ill" when Owens was told he was being put with Del Rio and Sheamus. I believe, lawfully, that qualifies one for a license to ill.

That still doesn't make a lot of sense. They couldn't just add him the next week or whenever he came back? Eh, it would be fairly awkward and probably make them look even worse given how their first week ended with Reigns beating them four-on-one. Which was f***ing stupid but still, instead of doing the, "Yeah, we'll just regroup, fella!" thing, it'd have come off like, "Shit, we didn't think this through, here's another guy! Ha!"
